Well, not really. They are reinforced, have more stiff bushings and painted silver. They are in between OEM arms and aftermarket pillow ball arms.adrians_s13 wrote:Nismo arms are basically oem arms painted silver.

Whoa, two things I didnt know.BrianHarte wrote:racbrita - the Tein ones have the 2 threaded nut parts for attaching the stock brake cooling ducts from some of the Silvias.
you obviously haven't really compared knock off parts to real parts... regardless of name brand. Hell, SPL doesn't even have its own stamping of its name anywhere on their products... their name is located in their quality.burntricer wrote:see what alot of you ppl are forgetting, is to factor in the brand name. look at Greddy for example. the reason they went bankrupt is these knockoff companies. offering a product with the same (or lower in some instances) performance/quality for a way lower price.
i have no problem rocking megan anything. they are an exact copy of alot of the parts made by a higher end company. dont get me wrong, im not some kid on a mcdonalds budget either (i make 140k+ a year) i just have other priorities to spend my money on. so i am building on a budget.
I agree suspension is an uber important part, and you definatley dont want to skimp on it, but hey. do as someone else said. go to a machine shop and have a megan/circut sports/ebay RUCA and a SPL ruca tested. i wouldnt doubt they are all close.
Get whatever brand you decide on. just remember, alot of times your paying for the brand name too.
personally im going with the kit on ebay for $300, by godspeed.

I'm in agreence with BH, I think I'm going Tein rods, and either Cucso or Kazama for all my other suspension partsBrianHarte wrote:"oh, but I swear, MEGAN is the same as everything else. You are just paying for the name.... WAH WAH WAH"

cusco ones have the option for buy the cooling ducts seperatly and they bolt on as wellBrianHarte wrote:racbrita - the Tein ones have the 2 threaded nut parts for attaching the stock brake cooling ducts from some of the Silvias.
It's not just the arm that's messed up. It's the bearing. They use cheap bearings that give out fast. I know of several people who have had thier cheap arms go clunk clunk in a matter of months because those cheap arms have crappy bearings in themburntricer wrote:see what alot of you ppl are forgetting, is to factor in the brand name. look at Greddy for example. the reason they went bankrupt is these knockoff companies. offering a product with the same (or lower in some instances) performance/quality for a way lower price.

I think Peak Perfomenace copied ARC tension rod. They look exactly the same and I doubt that Peak Performance made it first. But still it's one of strong ones out there.ArticDragon192 wrote:

Tension rods:
how exactly do you get caster on 240 suspension. any tension rod isn't going to do this. caster in the front would directly come from the way the lower control arms are designed and the way they would pivot. when you think of caster think of raked out chopper. the front wheel is slanted. when the suspension compresses it does this at a massive angle. not straight up and down. caster is that angle.carmo wrote:And as it turns out Megan does suck. I do like the coilovers though. +1 for Battle Version. Nismo tension rod bushings are too much work for no caster adjustment.
