What were the best games on Super Nintendo?

Looking for game recommendations other then the obvious mario kart and donkey kong.

I've heard people put it down but I always liked F-Zero. Yoshi's island was great even though it looked like it was for a 4 year oldSuper b0mber man was awesome in battle modeLemmings is classicPrince of Persia also classic.

(yeah, I know about the gaming forum...No one else does though, and a lot more people had SNES that wouldn't consider them selfs gamers now...)

I was a Genesis guy, but I liked F-zero and thought Starfox was impressive.

SimCity!

Secret of Mana! Hands down(if you were able to get one of the copies as they were limited production)

I have the ROM on my HTC and I am about half way through it for the 40,000th time playing it haha.

Star fox was a revolutionary game on the SNES. One of the first games to use a separate DSP chip in the cartridge so that it allowed the SNES to show 3d graphics.

Final Fantasy III (but it's really VI) is probably the best game listed so far.

Well it doesnt help when people post these threads outside of the gaming forum...plus most gamers got started on the NES or SNES so I'm sure you would get as many responses in the appropriate forum.

I loved F-Zero, it was the second best racing game for the SNES (Mario Kart is first). Super Mario World was the best platformer IMO, but get Super Mario All Stars if you can. It's probably a lot rarer (I dont know though, I got it back in the early '90s) but it contains Mario Bros 1-3 with some "enhanced graphics" and the Wikipedia page tells me that the later ones came with Super Mario World as well. It's kind of like the Orange Box of the SNES games.

It's a hit or miss for most people, but I loved the ActRaiser games. Awesome platformer.

Contra III and Double Dragon V. Thats all I need to say about those.

I hope you like RPGs though. That's what I remember best about the SNES. To me it was the golden age of the RPG. I got Final Fantasy III late in '94 and I've been a big RPG guy since then. Get Breath of Fire I & II, Final Fantasy II & III, Chrono Trigger, EarthBound, Illusion of Gaia, Lufia II, Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore, Super Mario RPG...there are others too, but these are all good.

If you like fighting games, SNES started that ****. The Mortal Kombats, Killer Instinct, Street Fighter, etc.

Some other very good games are Mario Paint, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Earthworm Jim, the Kirby games, and any of the Mega Man games.

I wouldnt have been able to remember half of these games if it wasnt for Wikipedia. Great site with a great name. wikiwikiwikiwiki

lol, naw I usually would make use of it but old school gaming requires a general audiance...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I knew this thread would fill out pretty quick.

I've heard on the internet you can find something called an "emulator" where you can then download every game ever made for SNES then use an xbox 360 controller...But that's probably illegal, so not a great idea

My buddy does actually have Mario all star though. I'll check out the games listed.

I played some secret of mana and it seemed pretty good.

I wish I could play some b0mber man over the internet...The battle mode is good stuff.

This one dude I know downloaded a rack of games on his 360, I remeber he had a game that me and my brother used to play when I was a little kid called "Commando". I remember there was one boss that we could never beat in 2P. I think that was for SNES, I assume so cuz thats all we had

I hear ya dude, I got my first nintendo when I was 9-10ish. Did not get anything else until I bought them for myself..............so I really missed out until I was 20 years old!! Sad but true Gone kinda crazy trying to catch up in recent years with the purchase of a refurbuished nes, snes, n64, have a ps2, and a ps3 to put the icing on the cake baby. Games galore.....game on.

yet i have played all the classics when i was young. maybe thats why i love games so much today., but i admit new games kill the classics most the time, both on story and looks obviously.

lol, nice.

b0mber man > * though....at least thus far.

It was sick back in the day too, because with the adapter you could have 4 player.

I remember in 8th grade we had meet up at a friends house EARLY to get ready for this field trip and we played 4 player b0mber man on genisis all morning until we were ready to go.
