Can anyone recommend a good HID conversion kit to give me that nice blue/purplish look on my new altima. Its just a cosmetic thing I know but its one of the first things i would like to do to my new car. Just want to get it out of the way before i tackle on the big projects. Wondering if the kits on ebay are safe and reputable and can anyone recomend one in particular that they were happy with. thanks

When you say "nice bluish/purple look", do you mean the ones you see on the street where it flickers that blue/purple color or literally blue/purple lights?

I am looking for something like what you would see on the premium package I guess. I suppose the ones I see people around here with that look like they flicker a bit as the car drives. Not TOO purple. put it this way, nicer thatn the standard lame bulbs that came with the 3.5 standard! lol Im going for that luxury look

You have the Xenon in your system already I am guessing...so you don't need the full kit, you are just looking for a step up in the stock bulbs?

What you want to do is compair the different "temperatures" of the bulbs. They are measured in Kelvins, and range from 3000K to 12000K

that guide you posted is a little misleading.. anything over 10k is really purple, and in those pics it still looks blue.

most luxury cars have 4-5k lights... which are more on the pure white spectrum

Agreed...but it was the best of a quick search. There is something better out there in the Google world.

if you want to see what the colors look like, just search ebay and most sellers have pics of the different K looks. i think that's the easiest thing to do to try and figure out what K temp color you want to go for.

So is it a matter of just changing out the bulbs? or buying a HID kit? found this kit on ebay. getting ready to buy it. what do you guys think?

If your car came with HIDs then you already have the hardware necessary for HIDs and only need to buy the bulb. If your car did not come with HIDs then you need to buy a kit

Im almost positive it is not going to because i did not get the premium package. I pick the car up on monday hopefully. It is a 3.5se with no package ad ons. From what i read online looks like you only get the hids with the package upgrade. Anyone here remember what their stock 3.5 came with?

Winner-Winner-Chicken Dinner

Need to have gotten Leather (on the 3.5) to get the HIDs pre-packed in there.

yeah i doubt you have stock HID's. i recommend getting them from DDMtuning.com get the slim ballast kit, not the raptor $40 set though, those are new and i don't know of anyone who has purchased them yet. the regular kits also have a lifetime warranty on them too so i'd highly suggest those. i say go 6000k, it's blue'er than stock, but not so blue that it'll draw too much unwanted attention

if you don't want to get the hids's from ddmtuning, then go ebay, there's a seller by the name of supervtec that sells kits $80 shipped and lots of ppl recomend him.

http://www.ddmtuning.com/produ....html

p.s. does anyone have the 8000k kit that can post a pic for me to check out the real life color comparision?

you might need the relay harness. it seems to be a hit and miss kind of thing. some people say it works and some don't. for me, i have 6k ddm tuning hid's, and my auto headlights work fine. only had 1 misfire since i installed and it was like 2 days after installation, so before they were "broken in". so if you install them and find that your lights don't fire up all the time in auto mode, then you might want to get a relay harness. or just don't use the auto mode.

ok cool. I will install it first and see how it goes. Can you post a pic of your 6000k. Just want to check out your actual color temp. I was on the fence between my 8000k i ordered and the 10000k.

Boy I wish I could say I picked it up this morning and it's sitting in my driveway. Unfortunately it's not. Problem is I wanted a 3.5 in manual transmission and my nissan dealership doesn't have any. Not only are there none in my region there are none in my state either (Virginia). According to my dealership anyways. So long story short they called me Saturday and told me they found a 3.5 manual in superblack. Not my first choice color but owell. Better than nothing. My car is being picked up from Florida and should be here wendsday. But sucks even more is the are putting about 700 miles on it driving it up here. Not happy about that either. They refuse to put it on a truck for me. I'll have some pics soon. Anyone else run into this problem with trying to get a manual transmission 3.5??

Yea...that is jacked.

Ohio is closer to VA then Florida...

Google this: VIN: 1N4BL24EX9C171695

This is a stick 6 at the Nissan Dealership that is near me. From the dealership to the coast (Virginia Beach) is 600 miles, so no matter what part of virginia you are from it would be closer.

And for them putting 700 miles on it...I hope they are giving a kickback...

Carmax will ship a 2004 with 70,000 miles on it...and they won't ship a brand new Coupe?

EDIT: Do you mind if it is a NEW 08? Google 1N4BL24EX8C195218, it is in Richmond.

finally got my car yesterday! it is beautiful, and i am actually very satisfied with the superblack color. I am kinda diggin it over white right now which was my first choice. Its going to be hard to keep nice and clean. Soon as i got home i swapped out the lic. plate lights and map lights for white led lights. My HID kit should be here soon. Once i get all the lighting on the car situated I am going to get an injen intake and then we will see what else from there.

here are a few picks i took with my SLR you guys can check out. Im not sure how to post pics on here yet. P.S. i told my dealership about the two coupes curtieson found on the net. One from ohio one from richmond and according to them they actually contacted several dealerships including those two that had the altima 3.5 coupe in manual however these dealerships did not want to get rid of their only stick altimas on the lot. crazy. owell got mine now and ready to drop some hard earned money into this car.

I would believe the other dealerships would say that...places get greedy...the 08 though...that is hard to believe...normally places are trying to move the old stuff BIG TIME! I know why they would hide it from you though...they wanted the profit!

As for Pics, there is a rightup somewhere...but it is easy...

You take the link on your FLIKR...

put [IMG] in the front and back (how you do quotes and such) and THERE YOU GO!

I liked this one the best!

EDIT, I agree...crop out the yellow barrier...it would help focus more on the car.

and 2) Your dog is TINY!!!! Putting him through K9 Training?

haha once again thanks for the help curtieson and everyone else. the car is awsome been driving it for two days now and i cant stop wiping it down and looking for things to buy for it on the internet. Can someone point me in the direction for the relay that is needed inorder for the HIDs to work properly with the auto lights. thought i had found them on the ddmtunning website but want to be sure. is it this:

http://www.ddmtuning.com/produ....html

and one last thing (last question i promise), is the fog light adapter harness they sell nessecary for our fog lights to be converted into HIDs as well?

no that's not the relay harness.. what you want is this: http://www.ddmtuning.com/produ....html

and i'm not sure if you need the foglight harness, I don't imagine you'd need it since the wiring setup is the same as the headlights.
