best engine for a small size?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

really? i dont know much about fieros but i believe i remember hearing long before i got into cars that people used the fiero to make lambos and other kit cars.

so those v8 in there use a special transmission? is it a transaxle type setup? or what is the more common thing people use or inexpensive? sorry i'd look up but im pressed for time since im at work and only get seconds here and there.

actually yes i did. from what i saw when i firsted started looking is that those engines are expensive. well in comparsion to the other engines i was looking at. not sure i guess it jus seemed to be more expensive then I would have thought.

i also was thinking of the mazda rotary engine, but however i dont wanna get stuck with a engine i know nothing about and i know very little of rotary or more importantly fixing or maintenance. on top of that the transmission for it seemed long.

im more undecided now then before...so many choices but im looking for something not 2 expensive ALL TOGETHER with potential and alot of aftermarket support. keep it coming tho. thanks for input and engines i dont know of and other people's project type cars. u guys r awesome.

Damn Man Sorry I never got back with you on that!! Most people use a adapter kit to convert the Getrag(Transaxle) 5speed to the SBC so that it sites sideways like the original motor. People with a crap load of money (Or sometimes luck) use a longitudinal trans. to center the motor in the car's cradle.
