hows it going guysI currently have stance gr+ coilovers on my hatch which i like and have not let me down. The car is a daily driver gets driven everyday to university and work and if any of you have been to Puerto Rico you know how bad roads are here. Im not talking about pot holes (there are many) but the roads in general are not good at all its like driving on waves so the car is basically bouncing around ALL the time. I understand they are coilovers and are not meant to be comfortable but this car is NOT for track at all. I spoke with the guys at stance and they said its not about spring rates it more on the valving of the coilover so getting different springs would not be an option.

So from experience and knowledge what do you consider the best and most comfortable coilover??

Any of them.... Zero 2's, Zero 2E's or Zero 2R's. Hell, there is even new Zero 3's and Zero 3X's for the hardcore.

I have owned most of the higher end coilovers on various cars..... Cusco Zero 2R's, Cusco Zero 2E's, Buddy Club Racing Spec, Tein Mono Flex, Zeal etc. Dozens of friends have owned many different vehicles with various coilovers also. We all agree that the Cusco's are the best for ride quality and have a nice balance for performance. Cusco puts millions into R&D and a lot of companies try to copy. They use the product in professional motor sports and use that info to provide a top notch product to the public. Bad thing: They are going to be expensive, much more than Stance or the other common brands that a lot of the guys run on here. However, like pretty much everything in this world, you get what you pay for. Now I understand that most of the users on here are younger and just don't have the funds like us older guys. So sometimes you just have to go with something a little cheaper and weigh the good with the bad. Now as far as a good riding budget minded coilover.... I don't know. I guess that's what this thread is for

thanks a lot for your helpful input. The cusco seem to be a good candidate for what im looking for and on the link it has great info. I cant say i have 2 grand to spend but if its the best choice i guess i will have to wait a little longer and save. I would like to hear something about those stance lx model though.

Endura-tech makes an extremely good coilover. I have a set on my S13 and they ride very smoothly. This company is part of a larger company that produces oem springs for several car makers. I have no complaints. These are high quality units that offer a great blend of performance and comfort.

Probably going to get flamed for this, but I have Megan Streets and with them set all the way on soft, they are actually pretty comfy. They have 8K/6K spring rates, but they ride surprisingly smooth. Plus, they are only like $800 bucks. Just my .02.

Yeah I'm planning on Megan Streets. I've heard a lot of good from people who have used them before. Seeing threads like this make my decision easier.

+1 for megan streets.Surprisingly soft for coilovers. And they def dont deserve the bad rep some people give them.

The build quality of 08-09 megans is comparable with some of the more established brands.

The softest setting is still a lot stiffer than stock right?

I'm running megan streets. I like the smooth ride they give but all the roads around here are like butter compared to everywhere else so I couldn't really give you a good review on ride quality. They do take S-bends and sharp 90's very well though.

In my opinion you should keep the ones you have. The difference in comfort won't be enough imo to justify the cost of getting new coils. It will be pretty minimal from a realistic point of view. If you want something comfortable a 240 in general isn't really a good choice. Certainly not something with coilovers. I say save your money and put it toward something else.

Just my $.02

Any of you guys tried these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Im curious about them cause there 8/6 spring rate and non adjustable dampening which would seem fine strickly for the street. Price is really good too. The seller SpeedyRacer Honda has me worried though. The names like an oxymoron.

they look like k-sport, or megan to me........but you can't adjust the damper.........and the price is alittle bit to cheap......i would say they are ok if you don't do any drifting or any hard driving but every 240 owner i know always beats up there car so i would also say NO dont get them..........

You don't want that man, if you can't adjust the damper it will always stay stiff, you and everything inside/on your car will be bouncing every time you hit a bump on the road.

Yeah that's fake. Those coils probably suck. The picture is photoshopped by the way. So easily noticeable.

240 + bad road = These cars are not meant for that in stock trim, much less with coil overs.

If you that concerned about how the car will behave on bad roads, don't keep coilovers. Use a progressive lowering spring and nice shocks.

Blah blah blah coilover on the softest settings doesn't mean crap. Normally you're adjusting the rebound. Yeah it'll become softer, but it'll bounce more.

Most reviews of "X" coilovers is a simple butt dyno. Aftermarket suspensions have significantly stiffer springs in comparison to the stock springs. You'll never have factory like response or ride.

Most people swap in cheap coilovers, and deal with it. Avoid potholes.

OK, do you know of a shock/spring combo that could give me the ride height a coilover can?? I know 240's are not the most comfortable especially with coilovers but im sure there is a good product that fits my needs. thanks again for the input and keep them coming.

There is no such product.

You either get progressive lower springs (similar to oem rings except they lower your car lightly) and shock combo, or you get coilovers.

You're basically asking for a product to slam your car but retain oem like reaction to bad terrain. No such product, it is possible, but with a lot of planning and money.

As stated, buy your coilovers of choice, then avoid potholes...
