Need more, more ninjas, more bloodshed, more ninja girls...:)

Ninja Scroll is awesome... check out Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust that is one great anime! Sucks that the sequels to ninja scroll blew chunks!

Yeah, funny you mention that, I was just checking out some reviews on the "sequel" Ninja Resurrection...

well, the reviewer tore it to shreds. It has nothing to do with Ninja Scroll, unfortunately. In fact, the one review I was reading said it had moments of violence that were so graphic it was physically uncomfortable to watch. Reviewer went on to mention that they had watched the first 30 minutes of Saving Private Ryan without flinching, but could barely make it through Ninja Resurrection, it was so horrendous.

Whew, that must be one sick flick. I have Metropolis here at my place too, I rented it last night...I'll give it a whirl tonight. Berserk was at the video store, maybe I'll sample that next. Not sure if they have Bloodlust for rent, I'll have to look.

Update: watched Metropolis tonight. Wasn't real impressed.

Animation was incredibly good, although definitely leaning more towards Disney-style as opposed to traditional anime. However, the plot was vapid, the characters gossamer as wax paper and ultimately it's just kind of unsatisfying. It rips off Akira in several scenes, I might add.

I did watch Ninja Scroll again, tho. Now that's a crackin' good flick.

Trust me Akira ripped off Metropolis... the original metropolis was an old black and white move done somewhere in the beginning of the film era! sorry to burst your bubble!:thinker

Oh yeah, if you want to go back that far...the original Metropolis was back in the '30s IIRC.

but then we could say 500 films ripped off the original Metropolis, I guess...ah, who bloody knows. Either way, I think it at least visually took a lot from Akira's animation, if nothing else.

Time to go rent something new...

Bloodlust was definitely better than the second Vamp hunter! funny thing is you dont even need to see the first to understand the second... they have nothing to do with each other!

I don't know if blockbuster rents it but X the t.v. series is really good. very dramatic. reasonably bloody. It has a really neat story line and the first half of the series is character introduction. then around episode 10 or 11 it starts to get really good. the bad thing is pioneer is releasing it so it will be at least 8 dvds long with an avg. of 3 eps. a disk. Great teacher Onizuka is a laugh riot. I know thats a bit off but i just gotta give props to it.

I thing crazy ****ing vampires would be a scary time indeed. I've seen the hellsing. I loved it up until the end. I felt they could have done more with it. Unless there is a sequel I am not aware of.

Im not really sure if blockbuster has hellsing or not. I borrowed it from a friend. thats what we do we all buy a whole lot of stuff and then loan it out to each other. I've been meaning to rent some stuff though 'cause buying is really expensive.

Watched Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, animation wise it kicked my behind, story left a little to be desired, but not too shabby. Neon Genesis Evangelion is alright as far as I've gotten into it, and the first episode of Trigun was alright, kinda the reverse of Cowboy Bebop. Picking up Ninja Scroll as I type, hopefully I can get a decent bitrate so this won't take four days.
