Great game we have here.

Guess what...Atheists can disagree with those of faith and not have to be ***holes about it. You can disagree with homosexuality and not be a hater. In our current society those labels, along with racist, are thrown out immediately. Tough s***. He's some tissues.
I can't agree more with the above. It's okay to attack someone here if they have faith or disagree with a life choice, because those type of opinions are unacceptable

Like Matt said: You can disagree and not have to be an ***hole about it - which is what derailed this thread in the first place. Act like adults and not children - if you don't like something then talk about it in a constructive manner. If you can't then hit the road.

Really? People say offensive things all the time and he's getting attacked over one simple phrase that you depict as offensive towards homosexuals... I'm offended by a lot of things said on here, but I don't attack and belittle someone because they say it.

Still he was originally attacked and treated as a complete idiot in the first place - instead of everyone acting like adults and being a bit more courteous. If you have a problem with what somebody says, then that's fine, but you also don't have to completely attack them over one phrase. We're blowing things way out of proportion over one phrase.

He never said that you need to "shove them back in the closet" or anything of the sort - he does not agree with their lifestyle. There's a lot of other lifestyles that I don't agree with as well, BUT that doesn't mean I expect that person to go away - it's a part of life and everyone does things different, but that doesn't mean I have to be best friends with them and support their decisions. You guys obviously don't agree with VQpwrdSER's lifestyle as well, so do you expect him to go away so you don't have the deal with him too? I'd hope not, because you'd look like an a**.

It's a difference of opinion and if you guys can't move on from VQpwrdSER's opinion at this point, because it doesn't follow your personal guidelines and rules, then you need to grow the f*** up.

So what? The word fa-g is used all the time by both sides and it's only wrong when someone who is not gay is using it? Same with the n-word? Gays and blacks are ultra defensive whereas white straight people can be called anything and if they have an opposing opinion they are immediately called homophobe, racist, etc? Fuk that. Hypocrisy. Sure, the response will be "but one side uses it in a derogatory manner"....Really? That's what you got? pathetic

Based on the above I can be labeled both a racist AND a homophobe and some probably are already and making other assumptions. I have just as much right to find what you do offensive to me as you do via what I am doing. But, who is going out and shoving their lifestyle down peoples throats? I'm not because I don't care what you are doing in your bedroom nor do I care.

If the part of the display was taken out simply because the man-woman-child relationship depicted something that may hurt the feelings of gay people then tough s***. GTF over it and move on just like I have to GTF over your excessive displays of sexuality, etc. Guess what, none of the direction to accept gays is really about that because even the ultra-religious will accept the person for who they are. It's about forcing their viewpoint to others as being "natural". Notice I did not say "normal" as there is no such thing with humans other than man-man and woman-woman by themselves cannot produce offspring.

Let the flaming begin. Attack me bro!

If the internet liked posting Spaghetti Monster smilies I'd throw one of those up there. They don't.

To me it makes no matter as I can find the comedy in either.

The problem I have seen in society today is you can't make any comment about another ethnicity without being called a racist, can't have a different opinion about sexuality without being called a homophobe and you can't make any pro-religion statements without the anti-religious plowing in and making s*** comments about your intelligence and beliefs. Pretty f*** up.

I see no need for a flame thrower. I also see the hypocrisy of people getting upset with the use of an unacceptable word/phrase but Not if uttered by certain people. Rather silly. And I agree it's depressing how thin skinned many people seemed to have become in recent years. The expression that begins with "sticks and stones" has seemed to given way to "how dare you" and filing discrimination lawsuits. But in the context of a forum, when someone offers a provacative statement, I see no problem with disagreement, as long as it doesn't get out of hand.
Unfortunately homosexuality is one of those subjects where opinions tend to run deeply, are unlikely to change based on anything written, and are less receptive to humor about it, so these type of threads can deteriorate quickly.

While I don't fully agree with what VQpwrdSE-R stated, or necessarily how he stated it, being attacked by multiple people over his opinion is retarded. From a religious perspective provocative statements are constantly thrown around on this forum by "one side" of the equation which is why we lean away from religious discussion. As with anything these issues bring out frustrated emotions and that's what I read out of VQpwrdSE-R's reply.

In general I'm not too concerned with people having a different perspective. I'm tired of the initial response to any opposing viewpoint resulting in standard labels today. This ties directly to the OP in that a painting showing man-woman-family has to be painted over because the small percentage of gay's may be offended by it.

Granted, going back over the threads comments they are relatively tame by usual flaming standards.

Anyways.....

Don't worry guys I am not butthurt over any flaming. Oops maybe bad use of words in this thread. Initially I was in disbelief and slightly angry by the news story and made the initial blunt remark. We all have our opinions and nothing is better than a good debate. I think I better described my viewpoint in the second post rather than the first. With that being said I'll stay out of any moral/political debates because I believe my viewpoints make me the minority here.

See, that's the replies I like. Unlike the replies I expect later in this thread from the haters who will go on a tangent.

FWIW you can post your opinion here. Obviously you need to choose your words carefully from time to time because there are lots of sensitive metrosexuals that will be butt hurt. Those who believe in religion are used to it.

BTW, you need to send me hi-rez images of your car so I can add it to the altimacoupe.com members gallery.

Must have been a slow news day. Stuff like this shouldn't get any air time since it leads to such silly bickering.
Should some straight males be "offended" by this? Why a wife and kid? Why not a pile of money and a race car?

Because you can't have a pile of money if you have either a wife OR a race car. Both are money sucking holes from hell

Well...that depends on the race car and type of racing.
Ok, how about just a stick figure, a pile of money, and a sporty coupé?
