It boggles me to think about why half of you simply come in here to post some stupid little phrase.

I think that if a simple little phrase upsets you, then you should have not post any comments to that thread

For a beginner, car and driver should be the only answer...Once you get the hang of it install parts one by one and see the difference they make. That way you form your own opinions and you aren't just taking advice from people on the internet. You also learn a lot about your car and its handling characteristics. They always say in racing its harder to make a slow car fast than a fast car slow, same goes for drifting

yeah you have to know about grip driving before you start drifting as your line is still the same doing the out to in, in to out idea.

most certainly.

once you can master road racing, learning to control oversteer becomes quite natural.

since it's winter, learn in the snow. you don't need much. if you want to drift, the snow is awesome. snow teaches you fast hand speed. practice apex donuts and figure 8s. plus have fun.

I just start useing my e-brake to initiate my drift. I ues to always do clutch kicking to drift a crnoer in the raine/snow.

Wat I learn from pulling the e-brake, is that I can pull it at any time I'm driving and slide around a corner pretty quick, with out having to slowing down.

Now I'm thinking of also geting the D2 racing hydraulic hand-brake to beter perfect my e-brake drifting technique.

but....

I'd say the most important things you can do to your car is first replace anything and everything that has worn out over the almost 20 years your car has been around. That's the ONLY reason I'm even thinking about getting coilovers this winter, because I NEED a replacement since all 4 of my struts are blown. Once you replace all that you can start to worry about aftermarket.

5th response in this thread.first page.go look at it.

I offered HELPFUL advice.

3 MAIN things you should get

LSDcoiloversbucket seat.

Did you miss that part.

then, tons of people replied with stupid posts like "search" "noon" "in before lock"

THEN after that, I made a post saying that people should just not write stupid things in the thread if they have nothing to offer for help.

So, since you don't care for the advice I gave a long time ago, just go ahead and start autocrossing and install a hydro e brake.THOSE will be the best things you can do to begin drifting.

enjoy.

wouldn't that be upgrades for the intermediate drifter? I think a bone stock 240 would do justice for beginners. Then when you feel the car is a limiting factor or when you feel you can handle the upgrades, swap a nice lsd and start doing suspension.

I disagree.

Why bother trying to drift on an open diff or whatever. Just go right to a 2 way LSD. That's what I did.Same with the other things.

I figure. why bother wasting time and money and B.S. "halfway" parts.

Just do the right thing the first time around.

u sure dont want to waste your time trying to drift a car with a open diff when it really dont cost much to upgrade.... it's a totally different car with a lsd depending on the lsd so yeah I would get the lsd.. and he has a point about the seat as well. I had leathers in my SE (now in my buddys car) and sliding around in the seat sucksssss.... and the easier way with the suspension for biggeners is having a stiff suspension. not the best for handling but easier. and helps alot with learning counter control... for me it seemed easier to lose control of the car on a stiff set-up..

yeah you have a point there, but I think that a beginner can learn a lot just on a stock 240. I used to do half *** drifts with an open diff before with stock suspension and it sucked, but it taught me a lot. In the beginning i was stoked if I could just get some counter-steer going lol. The vlsd upgrade made a world of difference, but now I feel like it's slowing me down in the turns
