Got stopped last night by a cop. Actually, I was doing the speed limit until I decided to try to make it past a traffic light that was on yellow. He tailed me for a while, and I saw him behind me. Then the devil decided to make me to stomp on my gas pedal without going over the speed limit, so that he could hear the awesome sound of my Stillen Exhaust. Guess what? His lights came on in a flash after that noisy Stillen episode.

Once again, he told me if I agreed to why he stopped me, and I told him that I completely agreed and that he was right. I was really nice and obedient to his person and office. I accepted all his requests, and he told me to keep the hotrod at home for the weekends, while I use a regular daily driver. I told him i do exactly just that. He stood a few feet from the car to admire its beauty---I suppose.

He then let me go. Fourth time I have been pulled over, and four times I have been let go. Cops are generally good people who have a hard job to do. They don't even get paid that well, and yet they have to protect us everyday. So, respect cops. There is a benefit to it.

Moral of story: respect and be nice to cops. Don't mouth off to a cop. They are nice people just like you and I. Don't lie to a cop--cops can tell when you are lying. If a cop tells you that you did something wrong, please, accept it. Worse case scenario, he will reduce the speed limit he intended to give you, which can save you some money in the long run. Don't try to prove anything or your right to a cop just be nice and respectful. Being nice and respctful will not cost you a thing. Cops understand that the G-35 is a fast and beautiful car, so long as the driver is not being reckless, rude, or stupid. Please, drive your G with caution, while respecxting the cops and their office. Speak in a low tone or voice to them. Don't yell or sound prideful.

Just my 2 cents and my experience. 4 pull overs and 4 merciful releases in less than a year, is no accident. I respect cops a great deal, and I do whatever they tell me. The problem I have is that I keep getting followed by people who can't drive--- I have already been hit from behind once, though, it only crumpled my license plate and nothing more. So, to get away from these people, i tend to get and go, and then slow down when i feel the distance is good enough--usually 50 - 150 feet from other non-paying-attention drivers. So, I never meant to speed--just trying to get away from some silly drivers. I am always afraid when someone keeps following and hounding me on the road. I really don't know what to do but to get away form them--which means speeding away, and I can't just keep the G sitting in my garage all week. I have got to drive somewhere and sometime. I have complained about this hounding before on this blog. Any advice from anyone?

I am beginning to think that a sports car should not be as beautiful as a G-35 Coupe. It is almost beginning to feel like marrying a Godess of beauty----she will get proposed everyday by tons of men.

Sound Advice Jack, but on a side note... When that little devil on your shoulder tells you to WOT with a cop behind you... DON'T LISTEN! That little devil may not know that many states consider Exhibition driving as a moving violation/misdemeanor and not all cops are going to let you off with a warning. The numbers are going to catch up to you eventually and it could be costly. I'd consider yourself fortunate that you've not been cited yet, but I'd say you're driving on thin ice if you keep it up.

Don't think I'm bashing you, cause I think your overall message is a good one... I just don't want the yunguns on the board to think that it's acceptable to rev in front of a cop.

+1 If you mess with the bull you get the horns...I just drive like my grandma's in the car when a cop is behind me, especially one that seems to be looking for something.

I bet any cop would tell you that far, far more people have talked themselves into a ticket than have ever talked themself out of one.

A polite yes officer, or no officer works wonders.

I always have an issue with the officer vs deputy. I know that it's deputy for sheriff and office for police, but what about Highway Patrol?

I know, it was light out, but he was really cool about it, I was all alone in the parking lot... until the red and blue lights turned on.. he he.

He was as cool as I was respectful, and my GF said something along the lines of "I told him!!!" with a sweet smile which I'm sure helped... just don't make me post the video I took of the cabot trail... the drama is too much for the forum...

I might post it if you tempts me

WE have Deputys for Sherrif, Officers for Police, and Troopers for Washington State Patrol.

Sir and Ma'am are usually the words I use when getting a ticket.

hmm i don't think its because you're nice and respectful. I just think its because you're some kind of avid tax payer who enjoys giving your money to uncle sam and the law enforcement knows it or somethin. Because when police pull me over, i even go the extra mile and use proper language on top of being respectful... I even ask the cop how HE/SHE is doing! and i still get a ticket everytime!

I checked my car up and down for a sign that says: "Hey Officer of the Law! Although everyone else around me is doing double the speed limit, pull me over for going 5 over, c'mon bud it'll be fun!!"

...I still haven't found the sign, but for some reason it's still there and grabs the attention of the nearest cop...

You are so right. Every ticket I've ever written started as a warning. It's like when you start school and the teacher says that everyone in the class has an A right now. By the time the semester ends, 90% of the class has proven why they don't deserve that A.

I agree you should be nice and respectful to cops, however I disagree with your overgeneralized statement that "cops are nice." They are just people, and just like with anybody else, you shouldn't stereotype. I have met plenty of cops who are awesome and those who are just plain d!cks. I have had my fair share of tickets. I must admit that most of those were deserved but there have been a few instances where the cop proved to be a POS human being that doesn't deserve the responsibility given to him. Whatever the case, being nice and keeping your mouth shut will surely yield better results than arguing, which will just dig you into a deeper hole.

Bravo! ((Slow clap)) You certainly have provided us with an enlightened prospective! Wow! I mean WOW! What an original, thought out and creative afro-centric coloquialism. You should coin that phrase and write a rap song... OH WAIT! Ice-T already did that about 15 years ago!

I certainly hope that all of your 2200+ posts have been as riveting as this one. If you think you are entitled to my respect merely because you are a moderator (ON ANOTHER FORUM) then you are highly mistaken. I'm not sure why you are even poking your un-informed head here. As a Nico Moderator, I expected more from you. Up until this point, I carried a belief that Nico Moderators were held to a certain standard. If you speak on behalf of Nico, then I believe that Nico should highly reconsider their screening process.

I comprehend the fact that you have much more time on this site than I do and are given the responsibilty of moderating forums, however, this does not give you the unlimited right to spew ignorance at your leisure. You need to take that responsibility a little more seriously and represent this site with a higher level of professionalism. If I'm out of line by expressing this distaste and are voted off because of this controversial viewpoint, then so be it.

I am neither employed nor compensated by Nicoclub, but I do believe that I speak for all when I say that ignorance is not welcome here!

I consider myself lucky. I did not get a ticket since I have my G. I was stopped 2 weeks ago when I was moving. I was driving a cube van ford 350. doing 20 over. I was nice but I couldn't stop smiling. So he asked why I smile. I appologized and told him I have a sport car for 16 months. Never got stopped for ticket and here I am in a cube one and you cought me doing 20 over. I told him I have 1200 sqf hardwood in the back among my furniture. I was affraid they going to get wet. It was raining heavy that time and the van had some leak. What can I say it is a god damn FORD. He asked me if I mind to open the back. So I did. He I guess just wanted to see if I said the truth. He told me to slow down and wished me good luck with my moving.
