Had a well-written response to some inaccuracies in the last post... Looks like even the person who wrote it realized it was inaccurate, as it's been removed.
Lowering a car properly does not render it any less "safe". However, it has to be done properly, and there's more to it than just springs.
Proper springs, shorter shocks, upper links, lower control arms and a good alignment are a bare minimum for maintaining proper suspension geometry.
Higher load-rating tires have NO correlation to sidewall height. Load rating is a measure of the tire's internal construction and strength. The Q requires a higher load rating tire simply because of its weight and its handling ability.
I drove a relatively modded Q for several years, and never got any flak from the "gurus" here - Primarily because I tried to learn all I could, and I didn't perform modifications that would render the car unsafe - All my mods made it handle, stop, and go much better.
Throwing parts at a car that desperately needs basic maintenance is a recipe for disaster.
I can't help but think that the OP's car hurled itself off the flatbed in a desperate attempt to end its own suffering.
