im building my head right now with supertech springs and retainers, supertech oversize valves, new valve seals... etc

i am deciding on wether to just get some BC stage 264's and slap them in with my t28 setup or not. these cams are higher duration than the dual exhaust cam 248's that ive ran before and i hated the low end loss with my t3/t4 57 trim.

so are these cams mismatched with my turbo setup? am i going to get any gains from this? i know the turbo chokes at higher rpms and im pushing 15psi with the t28. feedback please.

Not sure on the cams bro. I've never had a set.I'm running a GT28RS with a .86 hotside. I lose some pep' after about 6k. But I have stock cams. 93 S13. I'm also running 15-16 psi. But I did port, gasket match, and polish my head. I'm guessing you should gain something up top. And the T28 should make up on the low end for you.

But to some people, my input is worthless and incorrect. So take it as you will.

T28 is for responsiveness, not overall power. Depending on the version of the T28 (S14, S15, GT28R) it will pull decently for a little after 6k but the power band of the cams and the turbo will be kind of like a venn diagram, they'll overlap in the middle, but at the top and bottom they won't work well together. Or such is my take. I'd have to say that the middle pull is worth it IMO.

For maximum effect, you have to buy parts that work together, not against each other. A t28 would be well suited to some 240/232 or 248/232 cams. That's where the efficiencies are similar.

The T3/T4 with a .63 or larger hotside would complement V2 (10-20psi) or V3 cams (20psi+ only IMO).

It's all about compromising to achieve a specific powerband for the intended use.

The T2 flange is not suited for the KA...low boost and low power is fine. Anything else and the T28 is inefficient. Especially if it's internally gated. Look up exhaust reversion...

I agree. Here's nissanfanatic's results on V2 Crowers and a T3/T04E at ~15psi. He had a 20 HP peak gain. Based on the charts, the V2's benefits start showing at 5800 RPM, which disagrees with the T2's RPM range.zerothread?id=229707
