Hey whats up everyone. I am about to relocate my battery and I have a quick question. What do I need to do to relocate the fusable link box once the battery is relocated and how is it all rewired. I understand how the rest of the job is supposed to be done just not that part. Haha I searched for over 30 mins. and couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks in advance guys.

Just out of curiosity, why are you relocating it?

only reason i can think to do this is to make the car hard to steal from thieves.

Don't see how that would make it any harder, I imagine he's just putting it behind the seat or in the trunk. If so hopefully using a dry cell batt, or something like an optima where it's fully sealed. But still a waste of time and money in my opinion. It's already pretty centered as far as weight distribution goes. If that's the logic behind the relocation.

I'm relocating mine as well, clean up the engine bay and make more room. It's busy enough up there lol

This is the main reason for relocating. Not to mention, it will do a very small amount of weight distribution balancing.

There's a post about what you were asking, though it may be incorrect. Harry usually knows his stuff though, so I'd call that a good info source. I'll verify on mine. Fugging parts need to get here already so I can finish my timing belt job.

Hey guys sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I have 2 reasons for relocation. First I want to clean up the engine bay. I plan on putting the catch cans where the battery was located. Secondly for weight distribution. Ive already read comments about it throwing off the balance but I dont think that will be a factor. I have a lot of weight reduction deletes already. I have a Duracell red top that I am placing behind me in a sealed battery box from Summit racing so it should be good. Im just not quite sure about the fuseable link box and how thats supposed to be wired in once relocated. Thanks for the replies and thanks for the link Ace!

Not to thread jack (it seems the question is resolved at this point). I'm taking a trip down to California in September for a month, any of you guys from there at all? I'm bringing my Z with me on a trailer and going to cruise all over Cali for the whole time :)

I used to be down there, but I've gotten out of the service and moved back to TN now.

I haven't even popped my hood since I posted last. It was raining yesterday and I didn't get home till dark today. Hopefully tomorrow won't be as dumb of a day.

Yea hopefully the weather gets better for you. I haven't seen rain in months. Lol I'm just waiting on a few minor parts for now until i sell a car. I finally ordered a hood release cable so I can shut the hood all the way now. New IC and starter shim are in the mail too. Once I figure out this whole wiring thing and get a HO alternator then Ill be on the road. :chuckle:

I would say google images maybe or start some tampering in your garage when your bored someday. It wasn't officially decided until yesterday that I was relocating mine but when the point if heat disputation was also brought into play it was a no choice option for my build type. Fmic, large rad, electric fan, etc. Need as much venting as possible in the bay.
