Factory carbon canister I believe... I'll check it out for you properly if it doesn't turn out to be that.

I just checked out an old pic of a cima engine bay and can confirm that it does go to the carbon canister... and I'm pretty sure that they're under vacuum from the intake to keep the system closed loop.

Hey Bart,

Checked one of my engines, line plumbs into the intake already behind the throttle. Just block it off. The little green solenoid next to it is the lift solenoid for the carbon canister.

Hey guys, im trying to do a rough tune on my engine VH41 trubo, just need to know what the fuel pressure should be at the regulator while the ignition is turned on with fuel pump activated (just before starting engine) and fuel pressure while idling/engine running.ThanksBart

Should be around 43-45psi w/o vacuum when idling. Ive found fuel pressure is higher when the engine is cold. I always take a quick drive then set according.

So whats your HP goal with the car? You think youll find any restrictions with stock cams and intake manifold? I cant wait to see the tq numbers since this is something im really looking into doing for my 240sx except using a VH45 and twin 60-1's.

Im not expecting big numbers but i would be happy with 450hp.Its on 5 psi boost and has log style exhaust manifolds which are inherently restrictive. So 450 would be ok as a start.Later i would go for bigger injectors, custom inlet manifold, and extractor style exhaust manifolds.

Thanks mateYeah I'm having some issues with the fuel pump in the boot getting hot. I’m going to use a cooling fan and duct it through the boot floor and suck the heat out, the boot is enclosed and allot of the fuel re circulates from the fuel rail (which is hot) back to the surge tank and so the fuel heats up and heats the pump up. It’s not quite good enough for Street Machine, the body and paint is quite rough, 36 years old but it is rust free. When I get some body work done and paint who knows. At the moment to aim is to get a good tune, wheel alignment and a new fuel sender lol don’t know how much fuel is in there.

I've seen some of the Skyline guys who run 3 044's and the like run a small oil cooler out the front to cool the fuel from the return line. It seems to keep the fuel temp in check.

Yep i got an oil cooler for the fuel but its mounted under the car near the tank. This has made a difference but the pump still gets hot, but not quite as bad. I will still go with the fan and ducting for insurance.

Sorry mate i havnt done much but will get back on it soonish.
Just bought 2 turbo shields DEI titanium, i believe the turbos was causing the hot fuel pump issue, i noticed the rubber suspension bushes are getting burnt also so this shows it is a heat issue from the turbos which is heating the fuel line and pump.

Man, your a hell of a fabricator! I love your ideas too especially the alternative oil pick up, I might want to use that on my 240z/VH45. Thanks!
By the way are you going to change the compression ratio for the turbos?

Thanks mate, the comp will stay as is.
You should use steel tube for your pickup if you can, i will be changing mine to steel as soon as i get a chance.

Also bought a Bosch fule pump as the Edelbrock internals got chewed out from the heat and stavation, mostly starvation as the pull up pump didnt keep up with the Edelbrock EFI pump. So plumbed the return line back to the surge tank so the EFI pump wont starve but this has made the heat issue worse, as mention got the heat shileds will be on soon. I will let you know how it goes as its good info for anyone who has the same prob.
Also bought another fuel pump 1000hp rated (thinking of the future) A1000 Aeromotive

awesome project man love your skills.
excellent craftsmanship. must've taken hours to do those panels.
how did you do the sill end panel so easily?
i have been at this for almost 3 weeks now and still failing to get the bend right.
im starting from scratch with a piece of sheet metal. nothing ive done looks anywhere near as good.
love the break set up too how does it work exactly?
your rims look fairly modern. are they torana stud pattern? or have you changed your hubs?
keep up the good work man.
any more progress as yet?
Cheers brodie

Thanks mate
You can buy the sill panels with the rounded ends if you like, i see if i got more pics on the ones i did.
The brake booster is in the boot and that is acuated by a brake master.
Rims are wlakinshaw with HQ atthe front and commodore at the back but i dont recommend HQ and Commo as studs can break off.
I havent worked on it for 2 yeara but will get back into it next year
