Hey, I heard your fantasy man, Barack, is continuing "the failed policies of the last 8 years"... tax cuts, Gitmo, warrantless wiretapping...

...such a sad little puppet.

Obama was given no choice by the GOP to agree to tax cuts for those earning over $250k in order to extend unemployment insurance. Giving tax cuts to the richest 2% is adding another trillion to the deficit.
What does wiretapping or Gitmo have to do with the deficit problem?
Don't forget the two unpaid wars Bush got us into. Trillions wasted, loss of American lives, and paying huge medical bills for the wounded.

No, continuing upon a spending spree is what is adding to the deficit. That's where the GOP failed and why a lot of them are being replaced. They were supposed to be conservative yet they spent like drunken Democrats. Dems take over and continue the theme because it's what they do. What do they care, it's not their money.

If you are so keen on paying for Dem pet projects why don't you crack that 401k of yours open and fund it yourself?

Hold on Mr. Hitman. You need to use more emoticons until I get you figured out here. I'm not going to go way,way out on that failed policy limb, because frankly, as much of it is Monday morning quarterbacking as it is ignorance on GWB's part, plus a little domino effect of misinformation from his trusted sources. I blame him because it was his watch, not because he did it intentionally. Besides, we're where we are, and the real question is how do we get out of this mess.

Does anyone believe that if the Reps had remained in power past 2008 we'd be in Sugarland with 100% employment, a diminishing national debt, banks without greed, and terrorists too afraid to appear in public? I sure don't, I see a administration that took power in 2009 in the endgame of this situation, down 70 to nothing, with 2 minutes left on the clock and most of the "A" players afraid to play in the game less history associate them with the loss. For instance;
Gitmo - better there than in line for another airline ticket. My opinion.
Wireless wiretapping. - I like that better than having some TSA guy's hand down my pants feeling my coin purse.
Tax Cuts. I could care less. Taxes are too high for me as it is. I'd prefer to share the burden.
Barack? Well, there's a saying I've heard, "It takes a Clinton to clean up after a Bush." No point in arguing what might have been or we'll have to start with Geo Washington.

It doesn't take much work to list the problems and point fingers, but the real question is what's the answer? Who,in 2012 brings a little hope to the table? And what the hell are you willing to do about a congress that is more concerned about being right than doing what's right?

Emoticons won't help you pigeonhole me. :)

But I don't disagree with the rest of your post. The solutions exist, but neither "extreme" likes them.

Until there's a fundamental shift in perceptions about government's role, we're going to get nowhere.

The Left has to get it through their dense skulls that it is NOT the responsibility of gov't to feed / shelter / protect its citizens (from their own poor choices, not foreign invaders etc.)

The Right has got to wake the F up and realize that times have changed, and that the MAJORITY has NO issue with gays, Muslims, abortion, Jews, birth control, prayer in schools, prostitution, possession for personal use, and generally just LEAVING PEOPLE THE HELL ALONE.

Absent that? We're hosed, and no blabbermouth Hopey McChangenstein is gonna fix it.

As for spending more Obama had to cave in to the GOP for tax cuts to the rich adding another trillion dollars to the deficit.
Where is the GOP going to cut spending?
They have no answers.
They have no goal to govern
Their only goal is to defeat Obama and they are going to lose.
The majority of the American people no longer buy their BS
I'll be doing the happy dance again in November 2012 when the dems not only retain the presidency but control both houses.
I can thank the tea party for allowing the GOP to lose control of the senate

When a person becomes fully invested in an ideology, balls-deep, the value of their contributions to a discussion diminishes dramatically as they display an inability to handle reasonable discussions based on fact. Its the reason Rush and Olbermann have their dedicated audiences but have no ability to change minds. No one believes an ideologue who clings to their party with religious fanaticism.

You've become a cartoon.

Yet, Rush and Keith make an excellent living playing to their (collectively) large audiences. As they say, the pen (uhm, microphone) is mightier than the sword. My point is, there are sufficient numbers of believers clinging to the ideology of these polar extremes that they can't, or shouldn't be easily dismissed. I have no problem with their dialog until they insult my intelligence by misrepresenting facts and situations. But, that's not limited to these two. In all fairness, it does seem to happen at Fox more than the other networks.
MSN suspended Keith for contributing to a political campaign. I found that completely unfair. I believe neither CNN or Fox have a rule against similar contributions. MSN choose to promote the impartiality of their staff by so doing. (yeah, I see the problem with that)

So, for my needs, a little Keith, Rachel and some Bill. But in all fairness, I love it when Bill and Keith jab each other. Makes my night.

And Telcoman has some good points that get dismissed as party line rhetoric. Would you rather have a single political line in this forum? Personally, I'd rather see Rush Vs.Keith in here. I'd be camping here if that happened.

Okay, I think I'm getting it now. It's all about killing the messenger.
I can't wait for the 2012 campaign to get into full swing and the blood stains I have a feeling will follow. Marquess of Queensberry rules right?

Where did I say that? Should we just let Howie throw lists out that he states are true and simply accept them as truth since he won't debate them?

But, if you want to go and defend him, that's your right. I'm simply going to put as much effort as he does into the debate.
