Yeah, the athena is descent in comparison to the crap sold at BB and CC, but it's not the greatest.

That "overpowering" you're experiencing is actually caused by the nature of the sub itself. It's tuned a little too high. Almost like a car sub system that ricers have. Very boomy.

With an excellent sub you can actually play it as loud as you can bear and it won't sound bad.

i don't think it is the volume though, it is almost as if it is trying to add bass to too broad of a frequency range (the volume doesn't actually bother me)

but yeah, i'm happy with it, i got it for a little over half of retail (~170) before i quit at compusa

If you are talking about me not taking care of my xbox you are wrong. It not even my fault what happened. It is a hardware issue which happens to like 20 xboxs' in every batch that comes out. I talked to the xbox customer service and they say they get this all the time and it is covered by the warranty.

If you weren't then nevermind. lol
