thats the thing, numbers are just numbers...i gaurentee if i slapped it on a dynojet i'd see silly numbers but the dyno chosen was one that could load the engine properly.

to gain almost 35hp from 1.3psi of boost is silly...realistically gains of 15-25 hp are expected per pound of boost.

I too tuned my car myself along side of a well known honda tuner that regularly belts out cars making anywhere from 3-700hp with a drag car that makes well over a thousand hp.

The spool does look rather laggy on the dyno sheet but i can assure you that it is definately alot different on the street, crusing in 5th gear @ 3krpm i can stab the gas and by 3300rpm i have a full 14psi, the higher boost levels are a bit laggier but still all on full boost well before 4k.

Guys, I can vouch for the dyno numbers being low. I worked at the shop that has the dyno Carl tuned on for about 6 months and dynoed hundreds of cars that ALWAYS read lower than normal. Many customers reported getting dynoed on other dynos as early as the day after getting tuned by us and seeing differences of as much as 50 whp.

Im surprized it didnt spool faster, i get about 17psi around 3800RPM maybe VCT helps with that?

thanks for sharing
What engine do you have Flatrate? 1.06 might be a good match for a 3.0... but a 2.5 or a 2.6 is prob pushing it unless you're reving the piss out of it. For Carl, I'd try something between a .82 and a 1.06 before I swapped out my turbo... the 3076 should provide a lot of power potential at the boost levels you ran when paired with the proper A/R turbine for a 3.0L. Do you know the exh manifold pressure you are running now with your current turbo/turbine setup Carl?

I have RB25 1mm oversize bore... i dont understand how its to big, car spools very quick and its super responsive.. when dealing with such a small turbine wheel a bigger housing would be better...

no real updates as the car has pretty much been flawless since it went into the car and I tuned it.
its very reliable and is loads of fun to drive.
the only issue i have had thus far with it was an oil consumption issue which ended up being an oil feed line issue; pushfit line i used for the feed (to get it running) was not rated for the heat of the turbo side of the engine...so it actually melted and was shooting oil onto the turbo manifold.
once that was fixed oil consumption ceased and the engine has been running like a top since.

I would like to change out the rips plenum for a different one as the rb20 runners are a restriction in the intake track, the 5mm port size difference im sure is causing turbulence issues and thus power loss.
I would also like to swap out the hotside on the turbo for a larger twin entry housing, something like the .86 or the 1.02 offering that atp has...again in theory should yield more high rpm power as the 'small' .78ar housing on the engine currently chokes the engine out past 6.

mixeds14 - clutch is a spec stage 3+, rated for 585ft/lbs. No issues with clutch...lots of issues with wheel spin!

Did you ever figure out what the part number was for the radiator?

Carl,

Have you seen Al's dyno on SAU? He's running the same turbo with the .82 housing and man is that graph ever linear. Thats exactly what I'm shooting for. I guess I'm kinda wondering why your dyno graph looks so much different from his? I'm actually thinking of getting a GT3076r 1.06 a/r T4 divided. Unfortunately it would be with a single wastegate only.

what intake are you going to run now ? if i had the cash i would of scooped up that intake mani bro, how much torque did u make on the 30 block ? i am debating doing another motor and build it my self similar to how you did yours and doing a rb30 with a 25 head (neo) or a 26 money is just tight
