I've seen 2 of em, a 96 and a 97 both fraking Autos. oh my life and luck are both horrible.

Quote »Mods...actually you'll all hate me even more. I picked the car up at a junkyard for $1700. Needed a new water pump and a clutch (clutch went a week after I got her) and a little bit of body work.[/quote]

for those prices, YES I do hate you but I'll be contacting you about the mags and stuff. That's all I really need cause you wussed out on the S15, EVO7 and the RB26DETT I was gonna ask you to send me.

congrats on the car man, she is a beauty. Can you tell me what makes her a Type R?

way b4 I knew about cars I've been intrested in the japanese culture and their language. I promised myself that I would spend one year in Japan b4 i die.

And I will too. Especially now that I know a little bit about their cars. The whole Divine Wind thing is really cool, not to mention the Samurai and the martial arts.

But, even if i'm an old fart, I'll be an old fart drifting a S15 or its replacement and posting it here. (with a katana hanging in the back-like the way they hang shotguns in pickup trucks here) hhehe

Sorry, Daunttless, I am picky... very very picky... I want a DOHC. It's worth an extra 1,000 to me to have a DOHC and not have to dive half way accross the country, or get it shipped. What's the strawberry face? Is it the one on the RX7 in the Fast and the Furious? If it is, can I have a picture of what it looks like on the 240?

Yeah, around my parts, a manual s14 is worth mouch more than an auto, go figure? Sales guy said its really hard to sell the autos, and the 5spd are sold withing a couple weeks. Keep looking man, usually the best deals are at least an hour away from your home, be patient, it always pays off.

I guess you don't like my idea of trading in the civic for a 240 at a dealer, huh? OK, I'll drop the idea.

Unregistered, its good to plan out what you would like to do with a car once you figured out which one you want. Start saving now, so you can buy a 240 whe nyou get your license.

hey REDSTAGE,

just a question for you. I've been shopping around for Japanese motors around my area, and there is this one store, that always claims there are about 50000km on all of their motors. They claim that because japanese emmisions are so strict, that after 50k, the people of japan are forced to purchase a new car. Seems a little harsh to me, especially considering in Canada, the average person drives 20000km every year. Using that number, that means a new car every 2 1/2 years. I noticed you said you had 45000km on your ride, so I'm still a little confused. Is that tru, or just a marketing scam?

Nice score on your ride man, I don't hate you, but i certainly envy you!! :)

Looking forward to hearing your take on the SR motor.

keep driftin'

Well, most of that is true. They aren't forced to buy a new car but they have to start paying for testing on it every year or every other year and it gets expensive, so often its cheaper just to buy a new car.

Normally older cars have to be inspected every two years. Alot of people will buy a new car once every three, cause a new car has to be inspected on the third year.

Cars over 10 years have to be inspected yearly I think.

The whole "bubble economy" way of thinking is over, used car sales are up, and some japanese laws have lightened up a bit. Used to be your exhaust had to have the Catalytic converter and a JASMA (Japanese Automotive Sports Muffler Association) seal on it to certify it and be legal. Now as long as the stock cat is in place you can have a cat back that is nothing more that a long straight pipe.....
