Not sure what i did but i'm pretty sure its bad I was driving down the road when it lost all power and started backfiring it would die if i deceled too then it was hell to start back up. oil level is fine and never heated up. is it possible i blew the head gasket or do you think its more serious.

I think youre over exaggerating it until further clues and or info. I am gonna say you have a boost/vacuum leak and you got a rich imbalance and flooded the engine. It happens on my KA sometimes shifting from 4th to 5th slowly on the hgihway. And it bogs down no matter what i do downshifting wise and i have to pull over and try to start my car again, but its only every once in a while.

At first i was like hmm...but i was thinking in a literal sense you have to give it gas to get it to start, but you mean throttle. Opening the throttle allows air easier to the cylinders helping arich environment combust and also when it does finally crank it tries to rev up clearing out the rich mixture.

Im gonna say something small or trivial still.

Sounds like maybe one of the injector o-rings blew out... I had that happen once, was pushing through some twisties, then POP. Big black cloud of smoke, and it didn't run right at all, popped a lot on decel and only ran "right" at WOT (using up more of the leaking fuel).

you may have a bad injector, pull all your spark plugs out and see what they look like, if you have a bad injector you should have one plug that is very black

Disconnect the connector on that injector, see if the problem goes away, otherwise pull out that injector and take a look at the small o-ring.

I bet you a cookie that it's a busted o-ring.

what about the other plugs were any of them black or was it just the first, if it was just the one then yah, its probly that injector o ring, or you have a whole in your piston, but the later is less likely.
