As we all know, the stereos in the G37's need a bit more bass. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a system like my previous Infiniti, so I decided to go with a powered subwoofer. Rockford Fosgate makes a new sub in an enclosure and a 300watt amp called the Overload. (there is another NICO member with the same setup) I was going to install it in my garage, but I decided to have a shop do it to spend the day with my family. So I called up the same shop that did my window tint and made an appointment. I also had a few bubbles in my tint that I wanted to have them fix.

So I drop off the car with the owner and we went to lunch/shopping for a few hours. 3 hours later, we went to check on the car. The owner said they had to "take a pass" on the job. They couldn't find a way to run the power wire from the engine compartment. Total BS. Wouldn't have been that bad, but they didn't call to let me know to make other arrangements. So I check out the equipment, to make sure everything is there and find a few scratches and a large gash on the side of the subwoofer enclosure. I asked the owner to come out and take a look...he denies that they did it and walks away acting like he did me a favor by replacing the tint, which was under warranty.

If you're in the south Atlanta area, do not use this shop!

A guy I work with used to be a stereo installer so we'll hit it next weekend.

They pissed off my wife...she spent a few hours posting on forums and made a BBB complaint. Turns out some friends of hers also had trouble with the owner.

Just avoid the hassle and go somewhere else.

Wow, that's pretty ridiculous. Radio Active Car Stereo must not have a clue what they are doing. I would guess your car is somewhat similar to mine in terms of firewall layout. Honestly, it's not that difficult a job to do, yet they claimed they couldn't figure it out. If they can't do that right, I'm not sure how they get any install done. The fact that they damaged your gear makes this even more ridiculous...

So Radio Active Car Stereo is supposed to be a good shop, yet Radio Active Car Stereo could not figure out how to run the power wire....seriously. And then Radio Active Car Stereo messes up your equipment and says they didnt do it. -5154165341654 for Radio Active Car Stereo

This. I'm surprised that in the age of modern technology and widespread information sharing places like Radio Active Car Stereo don't recognize that this information gets out. It would've been easy for Radio Active Car Stereo to make this right, but they just blew off a customer. And now, it could potentially cost Radio Active Car Stereo a lot more.

OP, I'm sure the job wont be too bad if your friend is helping. And, this way you'll know you're getting quality work done. Forget crappy places like Radio Active Car Stereo.

I try to do everything that i can to my car myself, because of stories like this one. Word of mouth is one of the best marketing tools in existence, and they are definitely losing some credibility on this one. Learn how to run a business Radio Active Car Stereo or you may end up losing yours. http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ blows

wow thats pretty crappy of Radio Active Car Stereo to do that to a repeat customer. I think Radio Active Car Stereo should own up to their mistakes.

Damn, that's crazy that Radio Active Car Stereo would do that to a loyal customer. And also just walk off like nothing happened. Definitely keep us updated on what the BBB says about Radio Active Car Stereo. Also, let us know how it sounds when you get it installed. I've been interested in getting a powered setup for the 240.

Radio active car stereo has some pretty radio active customer service. Couldn't find a place to run a power wire? What a bunch of slackers.

South atlanta shop. Looks shady from the Pics on Website.

I wouldn't of thought twice to go there.

Should of posted up, I work with a buddy out here in Douglasville that would of done a killer job on that install and for a great price.

I always ask about experience.

Did someone refer this company to you?

No, just called around to get the tint done...figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone to get the sub installed. Should have been a simple amp install.

Douglasville is about an hour away...or I'd take you up on the offer.

My normal guy Ben, who used to work for Spectrum sound in Union City, wasn't able to do it either.

Well he had had good experience with http://radioactivecarstereos.com/, but http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ ended up screwing him because http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ was lazy and http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ said screw it, and then once the owner picked up the car from http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ he noticed a huge gash in his box where somebody at http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ messed his box up. and then http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ said that they (http://radioactivecarstereos.com/) didnt do it, and walked away like nothing happened.

That's cool man, Sorry to hear about your experience. Maybe we can prevent some others before they are lead into the same demise!

They are definietly classified under bad business practices!

http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ services are what??

and I highly doubt that if you were to walk in to http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ and start asking them how to build this, or setup that, that they would tell you to leave

http://radioactivecarstereos.com/ gets a minus 65165754354126514 from me. I will steer everybody in the opposite direction that asks me for a good shop in ATL

You should put radio active car stereos in the title of the thread. Also, do you have any pictures of the damage?

I was seriously expecting something about tritium on dials or some other urban legend. That sucks man, just keep getting the word out. Unfortunately, you have little actual legal remedy with a shop when they screw up, since you can't really prove it was that way to begin with. Personally I document, with photographs, everything I can about my car prior to taking it anywhere to have work done.

Not sure how long it takes for something like this to hit Google's first page search, but it hasn't made it there yet. I thought you had to anchor it, by searching the sites name, take the google HTML code, then encode it here on NICO like this:
Radioactive Car Stereo gave such bad service to you man. It's hard to believe shops like Radioactive Car Stereo still exist with that type of customer service. Take it up with Radioactive Car Stereo's corporate headquarters and tell them what happened and show them this thread. I'm sure Radioactive Car Stereo would be happy to resolve their problematic shops like Radioactive Car Stereo in Atlanta!

Nope, too far. Deduct one man point! Doesn't matter what was done, you do not mess with a beautiful car like that. Nor do you wish that upon someone. Unless it's Dave...
