Speaking of first cars, my first car was a 1989 Chevy Corsica hatchback. My Grandpop bought it new, but like 2 months after he got it he got a severe stroke and couldn't drive anymore, so it sat in his garage only to be driven like once a month for the next 7 or so years. Then when my dad needed a new car he took the Corsica, and then when I started driving when I was 16 my dad gave me the Corsica. I finally got the Altima coupe a little over a year ago when my dad needed a new car and since I had alot of money saved up my parents/grandparents helped me pay for the rest of it and then my dad got the Corsica back. Then in June some douche rear ended my dad, totalling the Corsica and then my dad got a new Jeep Grand Cherokee(10k off MSRP may I add, quite a deal).
So in other words, my first car had a quite eventful life.
But talk about terrible engineering. Everything on that car went bad except the transmission. The engine was replaced/rebuild at like 120k, alternator went bad several times, radiator was replaced twice, air conditioning system was redone, exhaust system, water pump you name it and it was probably broke. That was back when GM and all the numskulls in Detroit were building cars to break, since repairs/parts were so profitable. Boy did that strategy every backfire!!!
