Even Jason Rhodes admitted that his car wasn't at the full extent of suspension development. I think you've got a lot of room to grow before getting too worried about power issues. Like you said, tires and suspension are more important than power.

I've been wondering what the Japanese are doing to their cars to run gymkhana, if anyone even does that with the S-Chassis over there.

Don't have any pics. Just have it welded as high up as possible.

So I'm just waiting for my 45* bends for my intake piping and I should be all set. Got the new downpipe, PS fitting and MAF adapter today. I probably won't have time to do too much tomorrow since I have class 10-4, but I should have it pretty much ready to go on wednesday (although, I will probably be waiting until my other oil pan arrives just to be safe. I don't know if I will even bother trying to run the engine with this pan).

Well I got my PS lines rerouted (still need to check for leaks), my intake is installed. I need to buy a few more hose clamps and wire in the MAF, then the intake side will be finished.

I tried to install my downpipe but it hits the floor pretty badly. I think I'm just going to buy a few 3 bolt flanges and use them as spacers to drop it down a little bit. I tried pounding in the floor, but it is way too rusty. There is already a hole in the floor pan and my carpet would catch on fire . I might use some scrap aluminum as a heat shield over the downpipe to prevent this.

Damn it, I'm sick of waiting on parts. I just want to drive this thing.

though you shouldn't have a problem since you are bottom mount, consider installing a heat shield for the bmc - and even heat wrapping and/or coating the manifold.

Definitely couldn't hurt...

Instead of using the flanges as spacers, I think I'll just extend the downpipe using a piece of the RB pipe. Should be cheaper, faster, and I won't have to get longer studs.

So it's all put together, but I'm having trouble getting the thing to run right. I'm pretty sure I have a leak in my IC piping since I am idling really rich, no matter what I do with the injection multiplier. I'm going to swap the stock injectors and MAF back on to troubleshoot this, and burn the stock fuel map back onto the ECU, since it ran perfectly before the turbo was installed. I'll even throw the intake straight onto the throttle body (skip the turbo) in an effort to isolate the problem. There should be absolutely no reason why it shouldn't run properly in that configuration. This is so frustrating...

It's been a while since my last update. So, the reason that it was running so rich before was because of a leaky o-ring on an injector. Once that was taken care of, it ran pretty well. Over the past couple weeks, I have been adjusting my tune here and there, but overall it drives and boosts real nice. I'm running about 11psi right now, and my AFRs are a little below 12 at full boost. I'm having a street tune done on saturday and it should be on the dyno shortly after. My fuel map is really close to being done, but I can definitely use some more timing advance to get a little more power out of it. I pulled out a bunch of timing in boost just to be on the safe side.

I also have my wheels/tires on. Turns out I needed a small spacer to clear my suspension with the 255s in the front. I haven't really pushed the car on these tires yet, so I can't really give you guys much feedback. I can say that they are sticky, haha.

Our first event up here is in less than two weeks. It should be interesting to see how this thing feels. I still need to swap out my nismo lsd for the helical, and clean up some wiring, but other than that, the car is pretty much ready to go. I'm lucky I got this thing on the road when I did, because a timing chain guide broke off on my S14 and jumped timing, so that is out of commission for a while. I'll try and post some pics soon.

Haha, thanks...kind of a tight fit on the front. Seen yours around a couple times, too. You gonna be at the first event?

I'll try and make it down if we get finished early enough. I'm not actually getting on a dyno tomorrow, it's just a street tune. I'll hopefully get on a dyno soon, though.

I like it.I've been running in SM for a while now, because of my suspension. I don't compete, really, but there are a few other guys with 240's who are bumped into the class, and we have fun with it.You have pretty much the same setup, except i have STi 550cc injectors, and a Calum ecu.

Cool...how much boost are you running?

Got together with my tuner today to do the street tune. My AFRs started around 10.5 at full boost. Now they stay right at 12...a very noticeable increase in power, haha. He also advanced the timing a bit. It feels a lot better now...I should be on the dyno in two weeks. I'm looking to get around 275whp at 15psi. We'll see how she does.
