the point I was working toward was if Richie makes this trip to a PCA autocross being under 18 and a non-member, how likely is it that PCA would let him actually run?

I know down here in region 79 you need a parents permission, and on some you can't even run. Like next weekend at the mich proving grounds you have to be 18 or older.

Correct. I think ldstang accidently unleashed a monster that got carried away when he made that casual invitation to Richie. He got Richie's heart and mind racing wildly. He now has fantasies of simply showing up, putting on a bicycle helmet, running free and drifting the course to show off for his teen friends. Did you notice he'd already mapped out his route and listed all his friends?? The bug bit him hard

The sad reality is if Richie goes to all that effort to show up with his entourage, it's highly unlikely PCA would allow him out on the course. He's underage, he can't legally sign a waiver, plus he doesn't have the money to join PCA, much less to pay the event fee. That boy is headed for some heartbreak/embarrassment in front of his friends. It's not right.

bubba- I ran with PCA last year and I'm not a member. They usually allow anyone and everyone to autocross

bubba- I ran with PCA last year and I'm not a member. They usually allow anyone and everyone to autocross with them.....more cars = more money

I completely forgot about the waiver....thats my fault. I guess I was thinking of my brother who's 16 but had my dad there to sign the waiver. In all honesty though, I hope Richie can make it and have someone sign the waiver for him (that is IF they allow him to run). I feel he can learn a lot and maybe it just might bring him a new appreciation for how good the people are that do it. But maybe I'm asking too much

Ryan- I gotta win more often to start talkin, maybe after NICOfest

No big thing. I think your motives were honorable with Richie, but I'm not sure I would have encouraged him. IMHO he's not ready emotionally or financially.
