if you buy auto now you'll be happy for 2-3 months until you kick yourself in the arse for not buying stick. If you wait and buy a stick you'll kick yourself in the arse for 2-3 months but be happier for the rest of the time you own your car. That's how I thought of it, now I own a 5 speed and I am 1000% happier.

It all comes down to personal preference, and I prefer manual to automatic.

I'd wait for the manual transmission car. It is more fun than automatic, unless you're stuck in traffic...on a big hill. ;)

Anyway, I voted "wait for manual".

Ever since I went standard, I won't look back on an automatic.I voted to wait.

-OR-

a)gas, cut corner, yank the handbrake like a n00b, and spin out as your friends laugh at you

b)gas, downshift, cut corner, ride it sideways like a pro and make your friends soil themselves.

My first car is a stick and I think every car (except for my pimping 7 series or whatever) that I ever have (this is of course assuming I live long enough and make enough money to ever get another car) will be a stick, well.. I might make an exception for a wife, but then again, my wife will probably prefer stick too...

sounds like good advice, but the thing is now, i can get an 89 dodge daytona with a brand new engine and clutch(less than 10k on them) right now, or wait 2-3 months for the 240, and i actually rate them about the same.

vote went towards 5spd

i sold my previous car in November 2001, and didn't find the perfect 5spd s13 until March 02'. worth the wait. and IMO, automatic trannies mated to 4cyl engines=poor choice.4cyl engines just don't perform well with them. hell, they don't even "perform."

hey now, i have an auto and i can pull off some suck drifts when its raining out.. it just takes alot of practice and good timing :) but even to this day i still kick myself for not looking around more and getting a 5 speed, i love driving 5 speeds.. and soon ill convert mine to manual.. but its a b1tch to do it, and even more of a female dog to try and find the parts for it...

Well I must say a dodge daytona turbo would be a very amuzing car to own. Lots of fun. If it's a good price I would go with it. You gettin rid of the 93 to get it?

yeah, well, giving the 93 to my sister. She needs a reliable car and i think the daytona will be a fun toy untill i find a better 240 or maybe 300zx.

I can't see any reason not to get it. Seems like it would be a fun car and with new engine and clutch just makes it all the better.

yeah, they arent asking very much at all, its a friend of the family thats selling the daytona. He just blew the engine out of his camaro, and he needs to sell the daytona to replace it, so they are only asking 2500, but i need a paint job and new windshield.

Not exactly sure, didnt get to talk to him for long. I believe he had to get a few new things, nothing horribly wrong happened to the turbo, he said something about the manifold, but i dun know what that would have to do with any probs the car has had.

Could have an exaust leak, that would affect the turbo, or a cracked intake. I would check it over really well, but it sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

I think it should go pretty well, and we are friends of his family, so if he does jOOk me out wif anything, i will be sure to keep in touch, lol. I also know my fair share about cars, and you cant fool me, a new engine and clutch doesnt hurt 1 bit, those are the things your gotta worry about replacing with older cars like that, but its already done for me. And while were at it, do you have an AOL instant messenger screan name or anything?? mine is dragonranger83

reasons for getting an Auto:

1. not doing any mods to it2. make it a 5-speed (so much trouble)3. drive around like it's a 5-speed, then being called "jacka55"

reasons for getting a 5-speed:

1. modding it.2. not being called a *****3. drive around racing ppl in ur SR (if) and being called "damn, he is cool" (unless u r a ricer)

ur call!

Wait for a 5-speed!

Or you could just get the Daytona, if you don't mind converting to a FWD car.
