Being kinda new to this sight and all. I thought it would be cool to do like an auto pro or digression (depending on your taste) list.

1982 Datsun 210 station wagon - bought it in 1990 $800 rusted beat up put it on layaway drove it 3 years sold it for the same amount.1987 Ford Thunderbird - bought it in 1991 4-speed auto overdrive or 4th gear didn't work. Cost over $800 to fix it.1987 Ford Escort (wifes car) - bought it at an auto auction (won't do that again) in Oct 1992 this replaced the Datsun.1989 Ford Escort (wifes car) - bought it in Nov 1992 this replaced the 1987 Escort.1993 Subaru Legacy - bought it in 1994 this replaced the Thunderbird almost new- program car.2000 Plymouth Neon (wifes car) - bought it on December of 1999 this replaced the Escort. My wife's 1st new car.1997 Oldsmobile Aurora V-8 - bought it in 2002 wife totaled the Subaru RIP that car never gave me a problem. I didn't want the Olds I was saving up for an Infiniti. Don't get me wrong the Olds was a great highway cruiser2003 Infiniti G35 - bought it November 2002 got a promo at work or I would still be saving. My 1st new car with 4.5 miles on the odometer.

Man, when I look back I sure am blessed. :bowdown Now how about ya'll. Please post your auto obituaries and your current baby.

Hey Killer,You sure you aren't killing Nissans? Drive safe man. I liked the 240s when they 1st came out. They're still a good looking car.Hey Ryan,Whats up with Ford Escorts anyway? Seems like every one had one at one point in there life. I'm lucky(not) I had 2.Fred's the infiniti man. My father-in-law had a white 1994 Q with BBS rims very sharpe. He is the one that got me to start looking at the i-35 & g-35. Smart man don't you think? Kev...

Kev.Yes, I had the '88 escort from hell as my first car. I was 16 and it was like $250, i found out why about year later. It had some kind of computer problem. It would just stall for no apparent reason. No one could figure it out. Then it would rev up and sound like the engine was going to explode. A few miles down the road it would run perfect. It had to have been possessed by some demon. The other kicker was the heater on the car. You turned the car on and normally you would let it runa couple of minutes until the heater would warm up the inside. Not this car. It was blowing scallding hot air from the moment you turned the key. Insane. the car now lies dead in a junk yard on the southside of Indy, at least it did about 5 years ago when i got my truck.

My list:

68 Buick GranSport - Bought in 87 with 40K miles, invested $10K in a full body-off resto/show, ran a 15.7, tons of trophies, what a great time. Stored it while in college, sold it for $1600 to feed the wife and son during a lean year. New owner wrapped it around a pole, almost killed himself. Bastard.

70 Karmann Ghia 'vert, no top, piss-yellow, rusted as hell, 1800cc screamer was the only part of the car worth a damn. Wrapped it around a pole and somehow walked away. Still unclear on the details.

70 Barracuda AAR (Dan Gurney Special) in sad shape, but faster than crap. 13.6 (best time), and handled insanely well for a car of its vintage. 440c.i., 3 two-barrels (converted to a single quad), pistol-grip shifter, lowered 2.5", 16x8 aluminum slotted rims with 275/50 tires and all Addco & Energy suspension goodies.

80 Suzuki GS550L - Great learner bike. Bought for $500, sold it for $1000 when it started to smoke.

84 Chevy pickup - Utility truck, spent all its life in Michigan and the 3 coats of paint were all that kept it together. Rusted-out POS, paid $1K. Drunk driver in a 280Z rearended it (parked) and killed himself. I got $4000 from the insurance company.

84 Interceptor - Great second starter bike - Buried it into the side of a Buick. One of the great early crotchrockets.

86 VMax - Fastest production vehicle ever made at the time. Look it up. EVIL fast, great looking bike, too hairy for me. Got lots of chicks with it. Paid WAY too much, sold it when I started to starve.

88 Radian - Based on the FZR600 (no fairings). Nice bike, tossable and fun. A little small for a 6'2" guy, but a neat bike. Fast and stylish.

84 CRX - bought for $2K with 100K miles, modded it with a header, exhaust, slammed on Riken mesh 15's, beat the piss out of it while in college, airborne 20+ times, changed the oil maybe 3 times, put a $200 Earl Scheib paint job on it and traded it in at 200K miles - Got $2K for it, and the current owner has over 300K on it.

80 Chevy Silverado - Bought from a little old man for $2K with 60K miles. Wife buried it into the side of a truck that ran a red light.

94 Civic Si - Bought 6 months old for $11K, what an awesome little car. Good looks, great handling, nice power, and a good-looking car. Mild mods (Mugen intake/exhaust, 15" Momo's). Sold it with 100K in 2001 for $7K - Poor bastard HAD to have it.

90 GMC 'Burb 4x4 - Bought in 96 with 70K, headers, 6" lift, 35's, etc. It's served its purposes, can't wait to sell it now. Awesome vehicle - Family will be sad to see it go.

95 Q45t - Paid a little too much, but she's perfect. A $53K car for $15K? A no-brainer. Best car I have ever owned, truly a passion-inspiring vehicle. I'd park it in the bedroom if I could.

My first car was a 1988 Nissan Sentra I got in 1996 from my parents. They bought it new back then. Came with a 4-banger, AC, got a CD player for my birthday. Got low-profile performance tires which drastically improved handling. It survived three rear-end accidents!

Finally the Nissan was totaled in the summer of 2000 and I picked up a 1988 Mazda 929, metallic brown, with leather, tilt/telescope steering wheel, 3.0L V6, power moonroof, RWD... it was a joy to drive. Wrecked it.

After that in the fall of 2000, picked up a 1987 Chevy Nova (the rebadged Toyota Corolla) for $600. Had a 5-speed, spent $700 replacing the transmission and clutch, then wrecked it too. Didnt keep it very long.

Made some money, and followed it up with a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300E in the same fall of 2000. What a boring car. Gorgeous. Horrible in the snow. Built like a Panzer, drove like one too. Sold it.

Then bought a 1991 Ford Explorer in early 2001. I used it as mostly a personal garbage truck (lots of parties = lots of trash, dumpster at apartment complex was always full). Took it across the state once, drove and sounded like crap. Was nice for sleeping in during lunch at work. Came to hate it. Dumped it.

Followed up in the summer of 2001 with a 1995 Mazda 626. I LOVED THIS CAR! Slick 5-speed got plenty of oomph from a 4-banger. Took it across the country and back, absolutely loved it how drove and felt. I'd like to get another maybe as a winter driver. Needed money, didnt need car, sold it in late 2001.

In the spring of 2002, bought a 1988 Mazda 929. This one was white, poorly maintained, but was a bargain at $1500. Unfortunately in the winter of 2002 it blew a head gasket, took out a timing belt, bent some valves. Drove it around with a dead cylinder for a month, barely able to even idle and move. It was fun while it lasted. Suspension was in super shape and I bought some fantastic Yokohamas.

Got a 1993 Honda Accord in March 2003. Mint condition except some rust on the outside. Took it across the country. This car had as much soul and personality as a toaster. Hated it, sold it a few weeks later.

A teacher on the other side of town had a 1992 Infiniti Q45 for sale. Bought it, kept it, driving it, adoring it. Never drove or owned such a wonderful car in my life! (parents had nice cars, so I have a benchmark to compare to).

My mom always pokes fun at me over how I never keep a car.

I'm never letting go of my Q, ever.

1973 Toyota Corolla 1200. Bought it brand new in Dec 1973. Dark Brown. Car was fun to drive. 84HP, next-to-nothing weight, accelerated surprisingly hard, no safety margins (overseas, non-US market vehicle). Left with my mom in Aug 1974 when I came to the US to go to college - no car for four years!

1978 Ford Fiesta. New, in Jan 1979, right after I finished college. Got a good deal on a 1978, since they had a lot of 1979's at the dealer. Orange. Blast to drive. Small, high-revving, best econobox of its era, IMHO. But this bright orange car was jinxed - three accidents (none of which were my fault at all). Third one was when a tree landed on it while parked at a friends house. No major damage, but ... I traded it in a week later!

1980 Mazda RX-7. New, in Dec 1980. Sky Blue. Fun to throw around. Amazingly smooth at high rpm's. Loved that Wankel engine! I moved to New Hampshire in 1980 and my insurance went up a lot after a couple of years, and I could not afford it. Or so I thought. Not realizing that NH car insurance rates were unregulated (unlike Massachusetts) and I coulda shopped around, I traded it in - mistake!

1983 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI. New, in Fall 1982. Black. Another fun econobox, but not a two seater, so it only lasted a few years and I decided to go back to a two-seater. Manufacturing quality was not as nice as I expected. Design flaws with little things (e.g. rattling gas tank flap, etc.)

1984 Nissan 300ZX Turbo. New, in Spring 1984. Burgundy Maroon. Ah! Fun again! Faster than a Mazda RX-7, more comfortable and another notch up in handling and comfort. Targa roof was fun - closest that I have felt comfortable to getting a convertible. Gear shift was slick as molasses, and precise! Sold in 1991 when I bought my first Q!

1986 Mazda 626 GT. New, in Fall 1986. Silver. Needed a commute car as I did not want to drive my 300ZX in the snow in New Hampshire. Turbocharged, two-door, front-wheel drive. Fun to drive and throw around. Traded in in 1991 when I bought my Q!

1991 Infiniti Q45. New, in March 1991. Charcoal Gray with grey/black interior. Was looking to get a new Nissan 300ZX Turbo ... drove past an Infiniti dealer and turned in. Test drove the Q and I was hooked, even though it was not a two-seater! Price was amazingly right - Frontier Infiniti had not sold a car in 10-11 weeks and wanted to make a sale. I got the MSRP 39k car for about $33k. One heck of a deal. My first automatic transmission.

1997 Acura 2.2CL. New, in Aug 1996. Primrose Silver (silver with faint tinge of crimson). Actually my wife's car, but I drive it on occasion, so it counts. Underpowered (140hp, but heavy), smooth running engine, virtually no maintenance. Still have this one, but are planning to sell it to get a Infiniti G35 Coupe for my wife - sometime real soon!

1995 Infiniti Q45. Used, in Jul 1998. Silver with tan/brown interior. Was having a lot of minor things go wrong in the 1991 Q, so I figured I would get a more recent one, with an extended warranty. (Mistake! I miss the 1991 - it handled better, steered faster, etc.) Still have this one. Was planning to get a G35 or RX-8 but now plan to keep it for a few more years, unless my company really takes off.

g35driver, Yea, I kinda actually regret my name. I wish I could change it. I was young and stupid when I picked this name. I could change it I guess, but I like my 400+post count and don't want to loose it. I've been with the community for a few years now and was on when it was over at the .org site too. But yea, I promised myself that I wouldn't wreck this one. I think I've gotten old enough that I can get crazy in moderation. The only wreck that I had where I was actually being stupid was in the first one. Hitting a deer in Kansas isn't even considered a wreck. Most people hate the damn things. They are the #1 cause of insureance claims in this state. and my 3rd one was due to bad traffic. I got rear-end. There were 2 other accidents at the same intersection while they were working my accident. They had to close off a block in every direction, it was crazy.

1989 Buick Skylark - Parents' car I drove around while I saved up for something a little nicer. I took a dive in a ditch and then got hit by another driver on the front right fender, but never fixed the dent. My sister drives it like that now.

1989 Nissan 240sx - Current car. Paid $3500 in June 2002, and I love it. 5-speed manual makes driving fun again. Spent about a grand in parts just to get back to stock reliability but it's been worth it as I've learned a lot.

1991 Acura Integra liftback - My first car. Got my driver's permit at 15, next was my driver's license at 16, then my car at 17, and I crashed when I was 18.

1994 Honda Civic hatchback - Bought this car shortly after my first accident with the Integra. Served me well till it was stolen last September. I beat the hell out of this car, I'm glad now that that's finally out of my system.

what's up guys, first car--76 old cutlass 350 bbl--red with white leather interior looked good till it threw a rod promply at 100k.

77 280z 5sp. absolutely loved that car. think it had over 200k miles when i bought it from my cousins girlfriend. finally she went to sleep in a pile of rust and a shot alternator. fun car and a shape that still looks great today. a classic i'd like to buy again someday to restore.

80 vw rabbit diesel- a quick grab to replace the z. 55 mpg, great car while in college, 5 bucks=drive for weeks

another vw station wagon diesel. not sure of the year, early eighties??? what a mess!!!!!! was reduced to plugging it in with a dipstick heater to get it to start in the winter!!!!(just one winter-stop your laughing!!!)

ford exp---total dog!!

90 chevy camaro---snore

91 nissan sentra 5sp---still have her, needs some work but still runs like a champ!

92 subaru svx- boxer 6 cyl-230 hp awd. amazing grip, more of a touring coupe than anything else,,,but a sweet car!!! miss it.

93 mitsu diamante- looked good but ho-hum performance. sold to a friend and still running, thank god! 93 mustang gt--trying to sell as we speak

and last but not least,,,,my true love, my ace in the hole, my ten foot pole, my ester rolle, my nat king cole...............

THE 90 Q45!!!!! nuff said...best car i've ever owned!!! jeff
