auto mode = always 4wd?

I tried the same thing, but due to my newbiness, heat made the plug metal even softer and caused more damage. Probably should’ve heated more around the plug.

Another question, this transfer case has an external oil filter that is bolted with three bolts to the case. Can we actually clean or replace this filter?? I couldn’t find a part number. I also need to change the filter o-ring due to seepage at the filter.
