auto-5speed conversion question........(not your normal ?)

I have been wanting to do it for a while now, and have been wondering if any of you who have done it, noticed a power difference? not horsepower wise but just better acceleration and so forth? if that makes sense.......thanks

Better acceleration is a direct result of more horsepower. Unless you have a severe surplus of horsepower and your tires won't hook up.

what i mean is, that i feel im not getting my motors full potential out of my auto trans

I did this swap not too long ago, you'll get better acceleration out of your 5 speed. Again it's just the old butt dyno, but I would say about 10HP more. Plus, the automatic transmission weighed like 50-100lbs more than the 5 speed, so you're saving weight as well.

the only downside that i saw when i did my swap was the cruise control and the cruise speed is 500 rpm higher than a auto but weight is less and u feel the torque response more

He could... but if he likes to go "fast" haha hell leave it. Trips over the governer allowing you to go till your motor blows, instead of 180ish where its supsted to kick in at.
