If anyone has 40k lying around you can't beat this deal.

http://www.autotrader.com/find...=none

If you don't know this car:

http://www.fantasycars.com/sedans/html/rs6.html

I'm not a fan of red, but I guess at 40k below sticker I could get it repainted.

If I wasn't paying 30k a year in tuition, I would be all over trying to get a loan for that car - I'd put a nut up for collateral if need be

I read in Car and Driver that only 100 or so dealers in the US took the accredation (sp?) to service those cars. Aside from oil changes most dealers won't touch the thing. That would be one of the few things dissuading me from buying that things.

But I completely agree with what Fred said...I'd drop the money on an M45, put some ungodly wheels on it, and finish the 240.

Agreed,

But if car manufacturers don’t build these kinds of cars, the consumer will not see the benefit of technology. The RS6 has technology that has been transferred from their Le Mans winning racing teams to their streetcar lineups. When the technology has been out for a while, it will start appearing in the designs of other cars in their lineup. I just watched the Speed Channel's infomercial on the RS6 and the S-4 and they are pretty impressive machines.

With 40k you would take a new M45 over an RS6 (with 1,000 miles on it) ??????

and btw you wouldn't have any money left over if you did by the M45 for wheels or the 240.

I don't understand why the price is so low.

What with being a brand new model and so few being imported even a very slightly used one like this still goes for very nearly very nearly $80,000.

Fred..

I don't know either - there must be some major issue to take a 40k loss on a brand new very, very coveted limited production car like this. I am going to email the seller, just out of general curiosity. I'll let you know if he reponds.

Here is the owners response:

_________________________________________________________

Dear Sir ,

My name is Mario , I'm a private owner, not a dealership.

I'm located in Europe ( Rome, Italy ) , I’m a an image manager in an advertising company here in Rome.

The car is almost new so you don’t have to worry.

Here are the most important details about the car :

- US car ( US model , US specs )

- odometer in Miles , speedometer in Miles per Hour ( MPH )

This car meets all Environmental Regulations to title in the USA ( DOT , EPA ) .

It's absolutely perfect ,it has a clear title ,never been repaired , never been involved in any type of accident or had any paint or body work done!.

The selling price is very acceptable because I want to sell it fast and easy. I'm selling it because I have to switch to a beautiful Ferrari ( a friend of mine have one for sale at a very attractive price and I really don't want to miss this opportunity ) .

If you are interested in buying this beautiful car here are my terms and conditions:

As soon as you decide to buy it and we arrange all the details you must submit a 10% security deposit in order to take the vehicle off the market ( secure it for you ) and begin the shipping procedure .

This deposit is a guaranty for me that you are a reliable person and you really want to buy this beautiful car. You must understand me why I have to proceed this way. This is the first and one of the most important step for this deal because I will come with the car from Italy to you. The car will be shipped immediately after the funds are cleared .

You must provide me your full shipping address ( full name , full address , city , state zip ..etc ) and also the nearest harbor to ship. Is very important to tell me the nearest harbor because it saves time and you get the car sooner .The car will be shipped by sea as I told you and it will have marine insurance .This is an insurance that I should have during the ocean transit time. I will use a specialized shipping company and the car will be delivered in container in the best safety way out of water ,dust etc. You will choose the inspection period time and after the period ends the rest of the payment should be made within 2 days and it can be made via bank wire transfer or even give me the cash in hand.

The VAT and shipping fees including the marine insurance will be supported from the amount showed in the add, so you will not have to pay nothing more. You must be a very serious in this deal as I will be.

Hope that everything will be ok and close the deal in the best conditions.

I look forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Kind regards !

PS: I'm not a smoker and nobody has ever smoke in this car !

I agree Fred. Plus a US spec RS6 in Italy...why? I am certain European spec would be cheaper and much easier to come by. Beyond that, I would imagine with the low production, the car could be sold well OVER sticker even with 1000 miles

Yea seriously though. Why would he have a US spec rs6 if he's in Italy? The only reason I can come up with is that he had the car already and just recently moved there. It sounds fishy indeed.

1. I'd take an M45 over an RS6, yes.2. I said I agreed with Fred, he was talking about full retail price.

That deal does seem fishy...You should e-mail him back and ask him if you could fly out to Rome to personally pick the car up and put it on a boat...just to see what he says.

Maybe they mean 38,000 british pounds not dollars since its in Europe. The exchage rate almost works out at 62,000, but thats still kinda low.

SO true.

Why would somebody who is <just> bought a RS6 sell it for so much under value?

Becasdue he is getting a "nice ferrari"?Anyone who can afford to buy that ,after buying an RS6 certainly has the garage space for both.

Also he is very non spefic about what he does, a PR Manager for an Ad firm doesnt pull all that much, even at a major one this holds tru in Europe even more than here.

If his firm is that big he could just name it.

Also it's cheap cuz he wants quick sale? :squint:

He can re-sell that car to the dealership (any dealership ) in one hour.

Even at trade-in rates that car would go for 67,000-69.000 at least.
