Thats true and like I said earlier, he might have moved to Italy from the US. So selling it to an Italian dealership might be a problem. Maybe he should ask the guy why he has a US spec RS6.

Maybe someone was killed in it and they are trying to unload it on some American poor sap! Ok, I have watched the "God Father" way to much now.

I think Gibbo is missing the point. Road & Track(June '03) did a very good comparo between RS6, M5, Jag S-Type R, and MB E55 AMG. They did instumented "passing tests" at freeway speeds, where these cars really shine. For comparison in what they call the "slingshot factor", they also ran and recorded times for an Acura RSX TypeS(some people consider this a rival of 240sx). The numbers are as follows:

60-90mph, in seconds

RS6: 4.6Acura RSX Type S: 7.3

OUCH! The youth has been OWN3D by an old rich man in a sedan!(again)

Ask the Q45 owners about freeway kills....that's where these high dollar sedans beat everybody...and look good doing it.:D

Damn right. The sedans like the Q are hitting 150 plus. Just the look on the faces of the people that challenge these sedans after they get beaten. Its just great. One day Ill own one of these cars so I can be able to do this.

Folks, this has got to be a total rip-off situation. When you are offered something for far less than its worth, then beware.

Scams like this are all over the map on eBay for example - just read the message boards there. Typical scam is from Spain on Canon and Nikon cameras - the "guy has to seel because he works for a fashion company, bought three, and the shoot did not pan out". The high-end digital cameras sold here for 6 to 7k are offered for $2k - you just gotta send the money via Western Union. Yeah, right!

This guy wants 10% deposit. Your chance of getting the car or that $3.8k deposit back are next to nothing, I would guess.

Even if there's been a catastrophic transmission failure or something, I'd still buy that car.

With nothing more than ECU, filter and exhaust mods, some of these cars have made over 500hp...

A customer of BAD with only the ECU/TCU from BAD ( JWT), the rest stock, was once clocked by the Florida Hiway Patrol at 180 mph in a Q45. :ylsuper

I dont know for certain who he is, but I have a general idea and I strongly suspect him to be a NICO officer...

Fred...:)

PS: For those wondering who/what BAD is: Birkmeier Automotive design the early incarnation of our sponsor BRM.Also BAD basically WAS the NICO store years ago, but we had so few members then, they didnt last..:(

I emailed him and he repsonded - and made no mention of a errant price.

It is possible that he modded the car in some manner that has both had some horrilbe result and voided the warranty - just a thought.

Also if one were saavy in making this type of sight unseen purchase, it would be easiest and most secure to make an escrow transaction - if the seller agrees, I would think he is legitimate

I had the same feeling as szhosain. It sounds too good to be true. My internal scam alarm bells went off when I read it too.
