hey guys, I'm looking for something again. I want to know if a 9" wide wheel will fit on R50's with the proper offset, also how to properly size wheels for 7"-9" wide wheels?

yeah i had 17x9 with 32" mud terrains

4" backspace i think you need a lift and a lot of cutting to fit these wheels it would probably fit easier with smaller tires.

Yes running 17x9 with 275/55/17's. Had some front wheel well trimming to do but not too bad. 32's would definitely require a decent amount of trimming. They do look awesome though Fueler.

The one's I've got on order (2 weeks left!) are 17x9's and have been guaranteed to fit. Does anyone have pics of what needs to be trimmed with 32's? Maybe how they did it also?

no pics but now that i think about it, i needed more than just trimming. I used a small mallet to bash in the part where the front mud flaps screw on to, it rubbed right there but then again you have a lot more lift than me so really the best way to find out is to fit them and adjust whatever is necessary.

Also, making it fit for regular driving is one thing but making it fit for hitting dips / off-road terrain at 60+ is another thing!!

I've probably got just about an inch more on my lift, maybe a little more in the front. What's the heights of the upper most part of your fenders? I'll measure mine tomorrow. Did you have to trim anything in the rear or was it all in the front? Sorry for the hijack Sic.

No worries man, I wanted anyone to talk about this and thats what I'm getting. the more info I can gather from this discusion the better. the only thing I would like to ask everyone now, is what offset/back spacing are you using with the 9" wide wheels? I'm thinking of using a +0 or +5 offset, and I think that would be a 4.75-5" backspace? I don't know if I'll have any problems with that or not.

If I can take this another direction for a sec, is there any reason why a 285/60/18 on a 18x9 with a 4.75 backspacing would not fit? if so what is needed? do I need a lift, can I keep it stock? how much do I need to trim and from where? If not, would a 265/65 be better?

286/60/R18 = 31.5" Total Diameter265/65/R18 = 31.6" Total Diameter

I think you can fit up to a 31" wheel without a lift and definitely a 32" with the lift. You could probably do the 32" stock but with a lot of trimming.

so I guess Ill be going with a 18x8 +0 offset and a 265/60/18 or 265/65/18 and see how it fits without a lift first. I'm not worried about trimming, I get kind of happy with trimming off stuff.

If I understand the system correctly and you go 8" wide with a 0 offset chances are you're going to be hitting your strut springs. You need got be at a maximum offset of -12 and minimum backspacing of 4". Check out this chart:

hmm, if this is true, then the 16x8 wheels I just bought won't fit? I guess I'll know for sure when they get back to my dad's in Kansas City. I'll guess I can have him take one wheel down to a tire shop and do a fit test to see if it fits or not.

added-I did a quick search, and from what I found in previous post is that anything from a 3.75-4.5 backspacing will fit for a 8" wheel. A +0 offset = a 4.5 backspacing. judging from this post zerothread/345775it looks like I will be ok. I kind of like his choice of tires too.
