hey grubby - you have problems clearing things with your car lowered 1.75 on the intrax? i have some st's to put on that will drop it 1.25, and i was wondering how bad it was going to be with speedbumps and such.

Hey Camel, I don't really have 'problems' I have to go really slow. Roll the front set of tires over the hump and then drive really slow so that I don't scrape my exhaust piping. Other than that it's fine. My problem is that I have 2 10's in the back and the box makes the back end sag a little bit. I am probably going to be getting rid of them soon b/c I don't like the way it makes the drop on the car look. The back almost seems to be lower than the front. But I wouldn't worry with a 1.25" drop, should be perfect.Josh

That is what I thought you would say, just wanted to make sure before I put them on. They are suspension technology springs, so they should be pretty good i am guessing. I shouldn't have any problems with the stock wheels since you have stocks on yours.

Did we talk at the meet? I remember seeing your car there, looked pretty slick.

For a second. I was with Ron, the black guy with the Duke visor on. We talked right about 4 pm and then me and him had to leave. He had the black s14 with the sr20. I was the other guy that was talking about what a good meet that was.JoshP.S. We definetly need to start doing this every year. I am just curious why the 240sx convention that was in Atlanta didn't have that big of a turnout last year.

Not sure, I was there for the swap meet. I thought the turn out was ok. But this one went really well. Ron was asking me about the B&M and all my other mods right?

I am going to go get my pictures developed tomorrow and I will get one of those picture CD's and post my pics.Josh

Hey where'd you get the idea for painting your wheels?

Heheh. Looks almost as good as mine. j/k.

But you know what, there are now 3 red s14s in atlanta with dark painted stock wheels. It sucks. I need to paint my car something else. Im thinking dark primer with fluorescent pink wheels.

I am thinking about having mine powdercoated jet black and then shaving the edge of the lip to a polished finish. Might be interesting.

Not sure if it is the best mod i have ever done. But it was a pain in the but getting all the top plate screws off and back on the new one. A small box end wrench helps alot. So do the complete, illustrated instructions that B&M sends with the shifter.

After installing, first impressions, noisy as chit. But extremely notchy and makes the car feel like the race car it was supposed to be from the factory.

I topped it off with a Momo Race Airleather knob and a Momo Performance boot. The boot screws onto the bottom of the knob where the trim ring would normally go. The boot has elastic at the bottom and is italian leather and is gorgeous. It slips right over the factory retainer ring and al stock fittings go right back on with a little biut of effort.

After I had it for a week, i started getting used to the noise it made at idle. A slight buzzing noise form the all metal construction and the one piece machined shaft that transfers noise into the ****pit. But I wanted to quiet it down a bit.

TBC - Gotta work for a minute or two.

I guess that last edited word would be C*O*C*K*pit. It is so funny how this things censors sometimes.

Anyway, I ziptied some lead to the shaft of the shifter below the rubber boot. That killed alot of the noise right away. This was at the suggestion of the B&M tech guy that I had called about the issue. It still buzzes a bit but it is more bearable. And for the feel that you get from a finely crafted race shifter, it is absolutely worth it.

I had alot of guys at the meet want to try it out. They sat down in the car and immediately were like "Holy Chit" that thing is tight (or "tyte" if they were speaking JDM). But regardless, they liked it immediately and wanted one for themselves. Some guy wanted to buy it off of me at the meet (MIKE from Romania and Cali, you are a freak for suggesting it).

All in all, it is worth the 200 bucks. I would try to shop around because I have seen the prices vary from 175 to 300 over the past few months. But if you want a tight shifter that isn't going to snap in half on you and decreases your shift time, this is definately the mod for you.

Hi everyone. I am getting a 1990 240 this week and thought I'd check in. I know you guys probably use the NICO boards more than anything, but if you'd like to have your own personal ATL 240sx/nissan forum, I have one set up at http://www.247motorsports.com. I'm trying to get more people to use the forums, so if you like, we can dedicate the nissan section to the ATL area 240s...

You really shouldn't use windows to host a webserver.

I'm sorry, I realize my reply seemed harsh. I thought maybe he thought I was hosting at home or something. My host is rather big and I haven't had any security problems so far after 2 years with them. I really like their setup and control panel also.

I'm sure Unix, Linux or something would probably be better, but I'm too lazy to switch my setup as I have like 5 websites hosted through them.

Anyways, thanks for the tip, sorry I sounded like a jerk.

Not a problem, just got a weird, misconfigured IIS screen that turned me on to what type of server it was. I do network security analysis and penetration for a global bank for a living. If you have a large host, it was probably a temporary misconfiguration. I thought you might have been hosting it at home, like you said.
