No fricken way...

The mud slinging campaign that T-Mobile has put up against AT&T leads me to believe this is crap.

Everything I can find about this seems to stem from a report from CNBC. I wonder how reliable this tidbit really is?

So my T-Mobile is AT&T Now. I hope they don't rise the price up of my plan.

What is the ETA to seeing these "benefits" and/or consequences of this merger for AT&T/Tmobile customers?

Well, I'm out. The only thing keeping me at T-mobile was the fact that they would bend over backwards to keep me happy. I've been thinking about trying verizon anyway.

CRAP. I've really liked T-mobile, but I have had a very very very bad experience with AT&T.

Guess it's time to switch carriers.

That really blows. The few people who actually like AT&T will be stoked, but everyone with T-Mobile is gonna be PISSED!

Im glad im not alone in being upset about this. It seems that everyone outside of T-Mobile always talks crap, but everyone that has it loves it. I have 5+ years with them and never had any issues or complaints, but now im seriously considering shopping around.

It isn't a done deal yet, folks! Lots of regulatory hurdles still need to be taken care of ... SEC, FCC, shareholders, etc., etc., etc.

Will take many months to complete the task - assuming it gets past all the hurdles too. Then, the integration process of combining two separate cellular systems will ensure that service will suck for a while for all AT&T customers.

I am so glad I am with Verizon (handset) and Sprint (data-card). I have been a Verizon mobile customer since 1991 (originally with GTE Mobilnet in the Bay Area that Verizon took over - had an integrated car-phone in my 1991 Q45) and been very satisfied over the years! :yesnod

It appeared in the Washington Post this morning.

PS. Why don't we change the thread title since it's not a done deal yet?

Wow...I didn't see that one coming. Kinda crazy that AT&T is trying to buy their way to the top. All the people who are wanting to switch away from AT&T should give Verizon a try. I've been with them for well over 7 years and would recommend their service to anyone. Reception is great and their 4G is supposed to expand exponentially by June, which is when I'm hoping the iPhone 5 comes out!!

For all intents and purposes, its a done deal. The only thing in the way is selling off a few towers in certain markets to please regulators.

Okay, but that's what they were saying a year or so ago when Sprint had pledged to buy them, right?

That was still in negotiation. As far as the business side is concerned, its good to go.

Wow this WOULD happen right after i just bought a new phone. (HD7)

And I always thought Sprint and Verizon would merge first, not T-Mobile and AT&T
