I started laughing about half way through that because I thought I was writing that. I too am too stubborn to admit that someone could do it better. Fab work like that should be done by a masters hand and should be worth the money, that's stuff you need to drive it.

Swapping out the axles would probably be your best option for long term durability and make it easier to repair when its going, since I am sure '90 parts are easier to score than Jeep stuff from the 60s.

The harness work sounds like fun, I have not heard of re wiring a Jeep for years, there are not many of those in this area. AZ seems like the place to have one, I've got to say I'm envious.

I did notice where you stuck the motor I bet it will be a beast when you get it done. Did you go stock body or fiberglass?

Stock steel body. I had to replace the tailgate due to rust in the hinge point.

I took the tub off and sanded down the frame and painted it black wish I could have paid for powder coat! I did a spray in bed liner on the underside of the tub and put on a 3" body lift.

I did a chevy steering box mounted ahead of the axle. It is non power but it steers like a power unit just doesn't correct. I also boxed the frame.

That has to be one of the benefits of your area the lack of road salt so a truck from the 60s doesnt need to be completely re done. I remember the 86 that I had needed a whole tub.

The powder coat is a good idea, but the spray on bed liner is better for the bottom unless your building a show ride. Since the thing weighs <2k LBS. you don't really need power assist.

Sounds like you already have a bunch of time invested in it. Looks like a fun project and doesn't seem to take up too much garage space.

Jeeps are just great though they have so much potential.

Are you planning on keep the 31s? maybe 35s? I cant tell or are you going monster?

I hope Greg isn't to pis*ed about hijacking his thread I don't feel like getting in trouble with the CEO. This a great thing you have here, thank you.

"thread jacker' should be my custom title.

it did great off road with 31s I do have room for 35's but they are more exspensive a only really help in mud.

I'll probably stay 31's.

We have a 3 car garage, the 3rd is tandem so it works great.

LOL NICO mechanic demands more respect though.

I like the 31s I had those on my Hardbody and I loved the way they road and I could clear most things without issue. It's a classic size everyone goes for something like 40" Monster Mudders or MTs screw that I am a fan of a decent set of B/stone Dueler ATs, aggressive tread and long wearing. The ones you have on there have a good tread pattern though and should be great. I want to start a movement to bring back raised white letters.
