ok, cool. thanks. I will post some more progress pics tomarro with some close of pics so you can give me some more tips, thanks again for all the help.

what do you think about using cardboard as a liner then layering fiberglass and resin overtop. I read a couple of sites that recommended it, but sounds kind of jenky to me.

The reason I ask is because I still have the last wall to make. I figured it was alot easier to leave the one wall off while I re enforced the box from the inside.

I can't wait to start working on my audio system. I takes me like an hour everynight to fall asleep because I just lay there and think about what I want to do with this box.

Automotive filler (bondo) works! Although, I saved this until the end of my build and filled/sanded to a relatively smooth surface (it didn't need to be perfect for me since I went the carpet route rather than painting).

Forget cardboard. Use something that stretches a bit better than felt and you'll be fine. You certainly wont be able to use cardboard for your car, since the goofy shape will dictate needing something much more elastic.

And, I know about laying awake thinking about the build. I actually had to get "sick" for a day to work on my build.

Hear are a few up date pics on the cpu stand. I still have alot more sanding and filling to do, and I have decided to carpet the inside because it is just to hard to sand the inside and make it good enough for paint.

So should I put another layer of resin over the filler or will I still be able to get a high gloss just painting the bondo?

You will want to get that bondo to where you think it is absolutely perfect! Then you will want to use a high build primer over the bondo. This will show all of your imperfections in the bondo that you thought you had perfect. Once all of the pin holes are gone then you can wet sand the primer down with 400 grit. Then it's ready for paint. I suggest you read through my fiberglass how to again if you need to.

This is a design I am looking at for the 3 amps. They will be under plexy glass and the non fiber glass parts will be re carpeted in black. Havent decided on what material yet, and the alpine and xd logo with glow white.

Do you think that will be to hard or to busy. The carpet will run flat up to the fiberglass and will run level to about where the stock floor height is.
