As the title says. Intake would help too but I just want to see what the headers would sound like with a nismo exhaust for a 2.5s. I do not want to lose the deepness of the exhaust tone. This is gonna be like finding a needle in a haystack since Nismo exhausts are rare.

I didnt have the nismo exhaust, but i did have an an exhaust with resonator and muffler :chuckle:
The headers give our cars a high, HIGH pitched tone after about 3k rpm. Opens up like VRRWWWWWAaAAHH!
Drove me nuts at first, then i got used to it.
I believe you should be good though. It wont really affect the deepness as much until you punch it, or high rev it
Oh and the tone is changed... big time. Lol some would describe it as a can of nails :lolling:
I have an intake as well. Ill search high and low for some videos of how it sounded.

Yes, There is def. a felt power increase felt in the higher rpms.
3k rpm and up is very noticeable.

If you don't have an intake i suggest going that route first.
the intake is lound and TBH im not sure if it has an effect in the exhaust tone (i believe it does though)

I'm considering getting headers too, but if it kills my exhaust tone, I'M GOOD. Not like my 2.5 is gonna smoke many people anyway.

I have the Takeda intake. It sounded nice even without the exhaust, but the Nismo made it sound much better.

But like YoungCoupe said, if the headers make the exhaust sound like a crisp fart can then no thanks. So far I haven't heard that but thats with different exhausts and all exhausts sound different.

Yeah, mine sounded like CRAPPP when i first threw the top speed exhaust on.
Hear my fart can comin from a good distance.
Added a resonator and it fixed up the tone fairly nice.
Drone is a killer regardless of the exhaust set up i did though.

That noise at the end of the rev in the 2nd video really annoys me. I hope that's not the sound that the header cause..

Not sure if its the headers that cause it. But it DEF prolongs the noise.
I've heard 2 other members exhausts and theirs do the same long fart noise after revving.
And they dont have headers.

I have the 2.5 with K&N intake, Stillen header and Nismo cat-back. The combination is perfect. I have been told (and i think the same thing) that it sounds like a street bike once it gets above 4k rpm. Otherwise it's deep and throaty up to that point.... My car is easily heard a mile away and its by no means obnoxious.

Pull the trigger and get the header if you have not already done so. That is the only part of the exhaust system you have missing, not to mention the bottle neck you are causing at that location....

Oooh, if you dont mind doing the favor, can you perhaps give me a sound clip video of the car starting up and a few revs? Maybe even driving away. Incase you're wondering where to upload it, I usually use TinyPic.com. Its quick and easier that way.

Since you're new here, I figure I can compensate for you by making a sig for you. Of course, I would obviously need a photo of your car :) But its the least I can do if you're willing to show me a sound clip being that we have the same model car, same exhaust and an intake.

after all your custom setups you decided to go with NISMO? :squint:

I found the last Greddy Ti-C out there and waiting on it to come from friggin Japan. If it's not loud enough for me, I'm getting the headers..

At low revs, around 3kish, after the exhaust note ends, it chugs. I guess you can say it pops a bit or is throaty. I don't know, I kind of like it tbh. It's like whooommmpa-puh-puh-puh. Kind of like a suby.

Edit: I have the top-speed cat.

But remember, those two are entirely different in terms of sound AND looks. So its either or. Some prefer loud and others, like myself and maybe Irvxing, like it deep and quiet. Some like it hard, some like it veiny. Some like it from behind.......dear me, I've gone off topic.

Right now I'm running Magnaflow's Axel Back and K&N Intake. It sounds very deep, but it's too quiet for me. I hang out with a lot of Z's and let me tell you those HKS exhausts make my car sound like a puppy next to them :p :frown:

Do you have a 3.5 Sano? What I like about the Nismo is that it almost has the stock G35/350z exhaust note. Also, I heard the positioning of the 02 sensor is on the opposite side than the stock 02 on the headers. Is that for the Stillen headers or the Sentra headers?

No, mine is a stanced out 2.5 ;) I love the stock G35 sound but I still think it's too quiet. And I've never heard of the sentra headers, I know about stillen's and Top Speed.

Yea I just looked it up, the Spec-V headers will work. They are the meagan headers and I just compared the photos of stillens and megans and they are identical. May as well go with the cheaper one. They are just pipes after all and Megan is a reputable company.

I like it deep, loud, fast (very fast til it trembles) and able to slap me when I get in it too much. I want her to hiss back at me when I get off and screams at me to "get in" in the morning when I wake to start her up. My wifey hates it when I talk about my car... :gotme

Yeah son! Depending on how the nismo sounds. Just like mike said I like my TONE deep and quiet lol. Greddy sounds exactly like the top speed exhaust. It is loud but not deep when hitting the gas
I had to choose between my car and my gf of two years... I chose the car!
Seismyg I suggest you do the same haha

I know what you mean. I'm contemplating on selling the Z wheels just so I can lower the car first. Or at least selling the tires on there.

don't sell them bro. Lower the car when you have the money for it..I don't care what anyone says but lowering the car decreases the ride quality significantly, so don't rush it. :tisk:
