Well what I need for this car to be complete is 1) lowered 2) tires with 45+ sidewall and 3) repaint the rims.

That will easily run me like $1500 all together IF that. So ya, i think first things first is lowering. I don't mind the stock 17''s i have now either, so it'll just take time before i put the Z wheels back on.

What's the specs on those tires? :naughty:
I say sell the wheels or tires and drop it first!
Lowering my car was the first mod I did a few weeks after owning the car so I'm not missing out on the factory ride quality.

The Front wheels are 18x8 +30
Tires are 225/40/18

The rear wheels are 18x8.5 +33
Tires are 245/40/18

I was looking at getting between 225 to 245 width all around with a side wall of 45

Mike and others,

As promised (see links below) for vids and pics. It's very difficult to capture the true sound of the exhaust note on camera. I went through the same process as most when trying to determine which brand of exhaust to buy, so for what its worth I hope it helps. But I figured Nismo is engineered by Nissan and so that should sound best. And it does. Especially for the 2.5 guys.

In addition to my intake/header/exhuast, I have the light-wight crank pulley which really helps with quicker revs, and the Bullydog tune which makes everything run smooth and proper. Also, I got my Stillen header high-temp ceramic coated inside and out, which may or may not change the pitch of the exhaust.

Hey it actually sounds pretty much the same at low RPMs and it does have a nice growl in mid-high. . And itd Not like the lightweight pulley or the BD tuner made a difference in sound I don't think. With that said sounds like you have the perfect set up. Thank you

Anyone has the Megan headers on their nismo exhaust for the 2.5? I'm considering the Megan headers but was just wondering about the noise. I love the sound of my nismo, its not too loud not too soft and no drone on the highway, so will I get drone once I install the headers in?

I'm 9 months too late to respond but if you're still curious, that fluttering/fart/thk thk thk sound you heard in the second video of the exhaust clip of the 2.5 coupe is something I dealt with on 2 cars.

Short answer: too much resonator (go for a smaller size if you can).

Long answer: On both my cars (1.8 Sentra and 3.5 Coupe) I had a resonator with the exhaust system I first put together. It helps with drone but too big a resonator and it ends up absorbing too much of the sound in general, and that can result in a bit of that quiet "paper flutter" or fart like sound toward the end of a rev as heard in the video.

Of course, if you must keep a big resonator due to drone, then that is going to be something you'll have to struggle with and possible throw money around in order to get the right sound level/drone compromise so you don't have to rely on a resonator at all, or as large a unit.

I have K&N, NISMO exhaust and Stillen headers for about 3 years now. Never had a complaint about it sounding retarded, I've always got good compliments. I'd recommend it, but be prepared for the car to throw a CEL. You will soon find out you will eventually need to replace both O2 sensors. Other than that, def recommend it. Also as an earlier poster said it can be heard from quite a distance away, but only if you are aggressive. Otherwise, there is a drone during normal driving, but nothing you won't get used to. Goodluck

Isn't there a way to fix the CEL with the Stillen instructions given with the headers? I thought there was some wiring and cutting that needs to be done to get rid of the CEL light? Would the Megan Headers do the same? I'm considering about getting the Megan headers cuz the welding looks to be better and its a bit cheaper. I just haven't seen anyone with it on yet to pull the trigger.
