What did you do about your gas door?

I'm considering a few options, but be advised, I have NO IDEA how I'm gonna do it until I actually dig in.

1) Build a bracket to extend to fuel door out flush with the body.2) Extend the filler neck and use a motorcycle-style fuel filler hatch.3) Relocate the fuel filler completely to the trunk.

What has everyone else done? Pics are appreciated.

Thanks!

You could just get a fuel cell in the trunk.. Then fiberglass or however you want to do the fuel door to make it clean. Thats what i would do imo.

But if i'm not mistaken don't one of the widebody kits around here come with the fuel door aswell? I've seen it around..

No need to move the fuel tank. It's got a home.

Besides, I have "pumps 'n switchez" in my trunk, .

Left mine sucken in. Doesnt look bad, just make sure to get out and help that petrol dispensing technician to open the door so that he doesnt bend the door or the fiberglass.

Check out the kits used by 4wd guys when they do the 4" Body lifts.

I'd suggest putting the door on the fender and finding a 4WD extender to get the filler nozzle receptacle out to the new door location.

Yeah, I was thinking I can cut out the entire metal opening, fab up a square-ish "extension" to weld in behind it, and kick it out 50mm so it'll be flush.

I know this has been tackled before, just looking for more ideas.

I'd go for #2. As long as you're going to fab something up, you might as well make it trick.

they all sound like great ideas, but for numbers 1 & 2 better idea to get a flexible hose if poss, because the fenders would flex more than the stock body position and it would crack the paint and shizz when it flexes after a while i think

U mean the fiberglass chunk they give you with the fenders that prevents you from opening the gas door. I tried to install that piece when the fenders went on, but then I couldnt open the gas door with it on.

Yes, and no.

The G is moving towards track-only duty.

The 'vert will remain useless for anything other than gratuitous displays of tire destruction, date-nights during cool weather, occasionally showing off my utter lack of drift skills at events, pissing off the neighbors, and cruising to enthusiast meets.
