Visit MY PLENUM THREAD and HELP HELP thread in the ONLINE MECHANIC...

I have completed the plenum job, and the write up is nearly done..... See that other thread too... I just have one thing to iron out, I have a vacuum leak somewhere and I just need to figure out where it is.... I think it will be easy, as I made sure about every really hard hose.... It is causing the car to stay in fast idle.

I'm not certain your fast idle is due to a vacuum leak. In my experience vacuum leaks cause an unstable idle called hunting, where the idle runs up and down over and over as it tries to resolve inconsistent data between fuel, air and exhaust. Try misting the WD-40, but if you don't get any hits then start looking elsewhere. Make sure you reconnected all your temp sensor harnesses first of all.

I will double check the temp sensors tomorrow...... If the harness is disconnected, wont it throw a CEL....

Also, is the extra (deep underplenum) temp sensor for a CALI model essential as the main sensor.....?

I dont know if I said this before, but the idle is at the startup fast ide (1250) but it is glass calm... Perfect, just too high.....

If it goes too much longer, I may take it to the dealer and have them take a look at it.....

I checked the FSM for HIGH IDLE AFTER WARM UP (diagnostic procedure 33. EF-EC 176) and it talks about unplugging the MAF, and then starting and running the engine at 2000RPM for 30 seconds, and if the engine speed drops then its an air leak....
