That's what I do. I've still got my Playstation, I just want to keep it in good condition so I use the PS2.

The PC version is crap. It's just a ROM with a very shoddily designed emulator. It's broken.

Ok... IIRC, your wrong....you can save PS games on a PS II memory card.

As for FFVII coming out for PS3

When that happens...I will HAVE to buy a PS3.

You cannot save PSX games onto a PS2 memory card, at least not with FFVII. I know this because every time I go to play FFVII in my PS2, I forget to swap memory cards. When you go to save in game it wont even show that a memory card is in the slot.

And I dont think they will remake FFVII for PS3. What they showed a long time ago was just a tech demo for the system.

Yeah, you have to have PSX memory cards for PSX games on a PS2.

As for an FFVII remake...I'm no FF guru but I wouldn't be remotely surprised if it happened eventually. They've done recent remakes of 1-4. No reason to stop there.

Honestly, I think better than a remake would be high-quality PSP ports of all three PSX FF games. If they're smart they'll leave out the heavy tweaking that has gone into the latest 1-4 remakes and just fit it to the PSP's aspect ratio and perhaps add some voice acting in cinematics.

Again, though, I'm no FF guru, so most of that is probably old hat for you guys.

I just recently modified my psp with custom firmware and have been playing ffvii over again, it looks amazing sense the screen is small its almost like playing with AA on. and since the ps1 was only 33mhz and the psp is 333mhz it plays very smoothly, been enjoying it so far, only thing that kinda sucks is the sound quality, psp speakers ftl!

I think I had 3 master summon materias on my all 99 level save. It's been so long since I've loaded that save, I can't remember. I know I still had to get Cait Sith and Vincent to 99. they were both just shy of 98 when I last played.

I used to pull the game out and play through it once every few years. But I haven't done it recently.

And I still have my original, release day copy.

by the way, since this thread is still up. this is the easiest way to beat emerald/ruby weapon
finalfantasywiki wrote:For a really easy way to beat Ruby Weapon, have one character (I used Cloud) have HP Absorb, Knights of the Round, Command Counter, mime, and W-summon. Have HP-Absorb paired with KOTR, and command counter paired with mime. Kill off two of your characters before you go in, and have Cloud (or whoever), Cast Knights of the round twice (if possible, if not use it once and another powerful summon), then sit back and watch the fight progress, Ruby will retaliate with Ultima almost every time, dealing approx. 7000 dmg, but KOTR will heal you for 9999 every time. You can actually start this chain then leave for twenty minutes (ish) and come back and he will be dead. Easy as pie. Best thing about this plan is, immediately after you defeat Ruby like this you can go right to the Emerald Weapon and use the same strategy!
and on the remake. i dont think they'll do it. But i think what will happen is a ff7-2. play dirge of cerberus and get the secret ending. it implys a sequel....

I didn't read all the posts here but all I have to say is Final Fantasy will always be the best rpg ever lol. ffvii is the greatest, followed by ffx I think because the sphere system in that was nice. The originals were really nice too :o I liked um... 3, which was 5 in japan I think?

3 in the US was 6 in Japan. I would say that its my second favorite next to VII. I may be biased though because it was the first FF I played. I bought it when it came out on my SNES. Now that I think of it, it may be the first RPG I ever played.
