its somewhat of a difference, but its definitely a notable one. i did boost up to 14 psi with the HKS wastegate actuator + MBC, but its not really making too much gain afterwards and the car started to run crappy. your car can probably run boost much more reliably compared to my setup. im still running the sidemount...

As long as fuel and ign is properly tuned for 12 psi you should be looking at 230 hp.

talking about 12psi, im getting a SAFC but im not installing it until i upgrade the cylinder head (cams, lifters...............), i cant wait. right now im still on stock mode recirculating those 7psi.

but, how can i test or make sure that the bottom end will keep up with such "bulletproof setup"?

what numbers should i expect to be getting?

i think i have all the necessary mods for it, fmic, exhaust................

hmm..don't mean to thread jack but you can run less that stock boost with a boost controller? is it possible to run pretty much NO boost? i'm getting horrible gas mileage (like 14-15mpg) and i want to save on gas when i'm not smoking 5.slows haha

The gas milage can be improved by triming fuel from the overly conservative maps, this of course is only if you dont have an additional problem that is effecting your fuel consumption.

i might just have to get a different gear ratio in the rear end...it would make sense though that my engine is wasting gas for some reason...it smells really rich and occasionally stalls...

I'm almost done gathering up the parts for my upgrades and gettin ready to send out my ecu shortly I suggest u do the same b4 having too much fun.

and im assuming you have a modified setup? what is your setup exactly...im kinda not seeing how a motor that pushes 205 to the crank at 7 psi would make 220 wheel at 5. until then... i call

word.

i plan to upgrade to HKS cams, more aggressive later. forgot the specs, my buddie in japan had it built and tuned while he was there. then i bought it and had it shipped to my house. i need to get it tuned on US pump gas and change my liscence plate to HKS SR20 hahahahha

unfortunately it was tuned by HKS themselves in japan. if i want to get a new tune i have to either piggyback or get a new standalone and full tune..... wich equals the suck.

i'll probably run a greddy emanage if i ever upgrade. richen it a bit and up the boost to 1.2. from what i am told, they were able to get above 400whp with that ammount of boost on this motor but the owner (my friend) kept loosing his transmissions so he took out his boost controller and had it tuned at 0.9.

i still need to verify what the AFR's are at on US 93 octane >.> but it runs like a demon so far.

now i've blown one SR trans, have a Z32 trans in the garage. waiting on an adapter plate kit to bolt that up, turn up the boost and tune. don't know where to do it around here though. have a few shops, James Evans Import Performance, Midatlantic Motorsports, DTM are all local to me so we'll see. but most won't flash tune and i don't have a console port any more

so HKS japan did your tune? must have taken a long time to get everything converted to US spec, unless you are used to their metric system.

how is your AFR read?

hahahha, i just bolted everything in and wired it up.

I have no idea what my AFR's are.. need to get it dyno'd in the US to see what the actual power and AFR's are at. but i've put over 6,000 miles on it so far and only two problems. one was a broken rocker arm and the other was the transmission.

i was told the tuning cost more than the parts and assembly of the motor itself. I only paid 5k shipped for the motor and a ton of goodies from his 180. i want to get a dyno sheet from a US dyno on 93

should be able to do so within the next month i would hope. i doubt it's really 388whp lol but here's hoping. at least it's a reliable build and i can chirp them in 4th

BTW, all of my info on power is 3rd person so it may very well be incorrect. i've ridden in a few other cars with a similar setup pushing about 320whp with a crappy tune and mine feels a good bit faster (i.e. butt dyno) so the tune could be getting it up there. READ: Disclaimer lol
