Anyone know a good shop in NY that would do an sr20det install into a 240sx???

I am trying to find a reputable shop in the New York area that would install a Red Top SR20DET engine into a 240sx. I am located in central NY and have an opportunity to pickup a 240sx real cheap in mint condition just needs and engine. I would love to put an sr20 in it but I want to make sure I have a place that can do the install.

I can do it for half the price of heavy throttle but they do have their own shop and I have A shop where i work on my car, plus im only 30 min from you. I live in Syracuse.

Depending on who you get the sr from and if you get the harness rewired.I can do it over a weekend.

Any reason you dont want to do it yourself? If you do your research you'll be able to do it. You'll learn a ridiculous amount if you do.

oki bum is right, you should do it yourself. I did my swap when I was 17 in my backyard with very few tools. I had no real experience beforehand but 4 days later I had learned so much and had a running sr. Get all the parts from Jeff at Heavythrottle and you can use the instructions he has on his website to install the engine. If you still want someone to do the swap for you go to builtperformance in Poughkeepsie. Heavythrottle doesnt do swaps anymore but one of their mechanics now owns builtperformance and they do good work. Either way I hope you enjoy your sr!

Built Performance is actually the old location of Heavy Throttle. The crew was the old install crew for Heavy Throttle. The only reason for the split is Heavy Throttle is now retail only and Built is installation with some retail (through HT of course ). They are all super nice and I would recomend DIY and then take it to them for a Swap Check. They run about $300 and you can be sure not only that it runs, but that it runs RIGHT! Save money and run strong!
