I was initially going to build A topmont eBay kit But cam across this package and it seem a little to good to be true for the price. Anyone have experience with it?Pictures of the clearance? or just actual installed pics in general?

Thanks

You'll still need injectors and some form of engine management. But, still pretty good for the price.

I have that kit.

The only thing I'd recommend, and strongly at that, is getting their paint off the manifold/dump pipe/etc. and putting your own heat coating on. Their's wore off/rusted super quick.

You will also need a downpipe to connect the turbo downpipe to the rest of your exhaust. I've been running the Megan Racing SR20 downpipe because it had a flex-pipe section, and I haven't had any problems.

I have the same kit, but it's not on the car yet.

Very good kit. You'll be glad you went with it, instead of the ebay top mount. Most people have fitment problems with the ebay top mount manifolds. (Plus, they are prone to cracking).

Thats whole build in the thread I linked to above is based of off that kit. Except the turbo is a Precision GT32 turbo ...

i had their mani, dump tube, and dp on my car. that was all i purchased from them. oh yeah, plus the oil feed and return.

my.02 the manifold sucks. my 5 year old couldve done equivalent work they did on the dump tube (garbage). dump tube would sometimes hit the steering shaft and you could feel it. i heated that ***** up and bent it. manifold kept warping and leaking like a mother fvcker. not to mention youre better off relocating your own ps reservoir. that thing was garbage too.

i guess it all depends on what you want to do with the car. ALOT of people are having good luck with the ebay bottom mount. a buddy of mine is running an ebay bottom mount with a s15 t28 and trapped 112 @ 14 psi or so.... stock motor.

I went to a free dyno day here in NJ, and there is something wrong with my MAF reading so I was running a bit on the rich side, but at 12-14 lbs I hit 277 rwhp and like 220 something tq. I don't remember the exact TQ right now, sorry.

It was on a portable Dyna-pack or something like that dyno. I did not like it at all, but it's supposedly really accurate.

As for track times, I have no idea. I'm planning on doing a 1/4 mile soon just to see. I'd be happy to break into the low 12s on street tires. It was pretty quick out in NICOFest Carlisle though.

The PS relocation isn't exactly worth it either IMO. I just drilled into the body of the car and moved it around myself. I still used the bracket for something, I just don't remember what.

The dump tube did come close to the steering shaft, but never has hit it, including during auto-x. I have not had/noticed any problems with the manifold itself.

A lot of people do have success with eBay mani's, but there are also horror stories. If you install everything properly, I don't think you'll have much of a problem either way.

I also have the JGS mani and dump. The dump does rattle against my steering shaft too. Haven't noticed any issues with the manifold yet.

Also have their wastegate, anyone else notice a weird sound from it at WOT? Might just be me, sounds like its fluttering. Weird

Running a boost controller? I am, and I get some weird noises here and there but I'm pretty sure it's from my AEM TruBoost.

s14tan, compared to some other kits and eBay stuff it pretty much is bullet proof

If you have any questions about the kit and everything, theres lots of people to help either or drop me an e-mail/AIM message.

I've only ever heard of one complaint...and it's in this thread. I have there DIY man..very well done...atleast the part they did.

They have good customer service and good products...definitly better then ALL of the ebay mani/turbo combinations. If you have any problems, send the stuff back and they WILL fix it.

i will admit that the quality of the welds on the jgs stuff is ten times better than that of my iap stuff i have now currently. IAP is another whole thread.... but i dont have the mani warping issue with the IAP as i did with the jgs, and the jgs was cut at each runner as opposed to the IAP being one solid flange.

I dunno how you had manifold warping, it's 1/2" steel...

i know... stumped the hell outta me but it did numerous times and i had to bust out the belt sander like three different occasions... and the last time it cost me like $75 to get it milled flat because it was so warped. im not having any problems now with the iap mani now that i redid their stupid arse design on the wg dump outlet....

look out for my pics... ill make a thread here sooner or later..

here's a pic of my JGS setup. I love it, the only complaint i had is that you don't have enough room to get your maf 12" away from your turbo inlet. but if you look in the pic i solved that.

I assume you had a flex section in the downpipe and good motor mounts? That sucks you had problems with it.

This is why I personally went with a Megan Racing downpipe. It has a large flexpipe section.

You can buy the pre-welded kits or the DIY kit.
