Then by all means go for it.In iowa my permit is to carry concealed.Iowa does not allow open carry w/o a professional permit which needs a profession such as an officer of the law or security ect to open carry.By what i see i would still rather shoulder it in my vehicle than mount a holster but if it is uncomfortable to you put it where you have the fastest draw.Just never forget to leave it.

well i have a Heckler & Koch HK45(basicly the new and improved USP 45) and with it being a full size auto i have issues sitting in a car with it for long periods of time because i carry it in a IWB holster between the small of my back and my hip, basicly right were my wallet is so if i ever get robbed i can grab my gun and look like im grabbing my wallet. with that said i actually carry a bookbag with me in the car and put the pistol in it with the zipper open so it is concealed but at the same time right in reach. with it being monted in the open you might get a negative responce from the cops if you get pulled over because the first thought in their head will be he has a gun and they will draw theirs and have you out the car on the ground in a heartbeat, better to have it concealed and show them your permit and tell them you have a gun in the car than for them to walk up to your window and see it and treat you like a criminal. just my view on it, whatever thats worth.

Talk to Mr1der and Repo Man. Those guys definitely know their firearms, and they probably know every primo in-car holster location. Check out the Great Outdoors section. There is more info in there about firearms then half the gun forums I've been on!!!

I would just sit it on the passenger seat, but due to philly law you cannot, and if you got into some hard driving you may flop her onto the ground and nobody wants to do that.

thats not always an avialible option.

always better to have a gun and not need it then not have a gun and need it.

The French way I see, just flee and hide. Why move? I own my home, I like my neighborhood but like city there are good parts and bad parts.

I have a holster that is snugged right between the drivers seat and the center console. I like it there for quick carry and also the passengers can't see it very well or are tempted to play with it. I keep a spare mag in the armrest.

Americans have the second amendment right to bear arms. It's not that it is in your car but on your person. When you are in your car, it is on your person who has the proper permit to carry, wether openly or concealed , depending on the terms of the state. The permits are based on a very strict background check, and you must demonstrate proper safety ,and responsible shooting which involves an accuracy test.

OutToWinPAHC wrote:The state of Pennsylvania issues a "License to Carry" which allows loaded guns on your person or property to be concealed or not. It is actually legal in all counties except for Philadelphia or Pittsburgh to carry an unloaded weapon on your person openly (visible) without a permit.

I just checked with the local precinct and with the "Ask the law" section of our local tuners forum.

Both answers were yes you can place the gun in your vehicle (showed photo), but it was not recommended by the one officer. The Pennsylvania permit permits OPEN CARRY, but being that the county of Philadelphia can supersede state law its not recommended to have it in open view while in Philadelphia.

However I will go with my first option.
You are right technically PA is an "open carry" state but its not recommended to open carry anywhere at least thats what was told to us in the gun class I took by a cop. If you get pulled over and he walks up and sees a gun in plain site he's going to draw on you gauranteed, I would look into getting a different holster and carry the gun on you maybe a shoulder holster

DO NOT mount your gun in your car like that!!! It will only cause you trouble in the long run...Are you some sort of thug that gets robbed constantly and has to have an uberquick access to you firearm?? If I was a cop and saw a pistol mounted in a vehicle like that like, license or not, Id F U up.....Ive carried for nearly five years now and have never been on situations where anyone ever saw my weapon..You should do the same..Its a big responsiblity

What happened to putting it in the glove box?? I could have the Model 37 out and popping in a second literally...less exposure, thats just me
