If your tach is reading nothing, then it is either bad or you don't have it wired up. (your ecu could not be relaying the signal also I guess)

Once you get it wired correctly, then the S13 tack can be modified to work but you have to add in a circuit. After spending many a weekend searching junkyards I found a tack that would work from another nissan with a v6 and got it to work. Later on I decided to just buy the damn speedo and tach that are already converted from lsauto.com. They worked perfectly out of the box and matched my apexi rev/speed meter.

Hello, I've got a VQ35DE in my 95 S14 and am trying to figure out how to calibrate my tach. Can anyone confirm that this is the screw that I need to turn to adjust the signal (the small blue plastic on on the top RH area)?

Also, does the letters "TAM" printed on the back of the tach circuit indicate the ignition signal from the ECU?

ThanksFred

You have to post pics of the setup for the "info fee"... sounds like a cool swap!

nice writeup and clean swap... i've pulled the cluster so many times that i dont even remove anything but the 2 screws holding the trim, then the dimmer switch and cruise connectors, and the 3 screws holding the cluster... you can muscle the cluster trim out just fine by lowering the steering wheel all the way with the adjuster.
