I've been looking into them and wanted to know if anyone on here had ever tried them and what they're experience has been with them. Are they as good as regular cigarettes? Did they help you cut back on the number of real cigarettes you smoke? Help you quit?

Any info would be appreciated.

Just ordered a sampler one from Volcano. Seems to be pretty decent for the price.

A few months ago some idiot was trying to get e-cigarettes banned outright here in Utah. Amazingly, a more intelligent decision was made, and they're now merely restricted from sale to minors.

I wouldn't be surprised if the flavored cartridges are banned soon since they "pander to children".

Never tried that cigar. Actually it's been a year since I stopped smoking.

I ordered a sample disposable one from here:
http://www.volcanoecigs.com/

If I like it, I'll probably order their "Magma" kit, as it's a bit more powerful with more vapor and longer battery life. It seems that, at the very least, it should save me some money.

Had a guy in my class smoke them last semester. No smell or anything, so he decided to smoke in class. Professor didn't find out.

tyler, i tried them. i felt they were stronger than regular cigarettes. no smell, supposedly no adverse effects like tobacco (loss of taste, no being out of breath, etc.). it's still straight nicotine, so you get the effects of that. there are tons of different flavors and strengths.

Yea I got a disposable to test before I buy a kit. I figure if I like it I'll start with the full nicotine (16mg) and then down to 8mg, then maybe get down to 0mg. It's not necessarily the nicotine that I need. It's generally the physical act of smoking itself that I crave.

i liked it because 50% of the time, i only really want 1/2 a cigarette, but since they're so costly these days, i can't bring myself to waste the other half so i smoke it (i hate the taste of a re-lit smoke). so you could just take a couple of tokes and be done with it for the time being. what i didn't like was how it didn't taste like a cigarette. i enjoy the taste of tobacco, and you don't get that with the e-cigs.

In theory you can, but you usually have to argue with everyone and show folks that it's not a real cig. My roommate smokes quite a bit and he uses these in bars/clubs and there has yet to be a night when he didn't get hassled by bouncers/bartenders/owners.

Being a former smoker myself, I tried it once and couldn't figure out the appeal. If anything, it just makes me want a real cig that much more. It's basically like buying better wack-off lube, it's ok at first but in the end, you still feel like a total loser.

Yea I don't really care about being able to smoke it anywhere. Maybe if someone pisses me off and I just wanna push their buttons I'll smoke in a club, but for the most part I'll still wanna go outside.

Bonuses are you can puff anywhere, Its not a harmful cigarette, and you can get some pretty sweet flavors.

Negatives are Its battery operated, its not a cigarette, everyone is gonna wanna puff on it too.

If you are resorting to the e-cig then you either are looking for a cheaper nicotine alternative or should just quit smoking. Not worth it, IMO, but I also don't crave nicotine. I got one for my girlfriend. She used it alot at first and now pretty much brings it to bars whenever she goes out. people get tripped out, cuz you can't smoke inside most places here now.

also why would you still go outside? If you dont need to. puffing an e-cig around smokers is equivalent to "I wanna huff your secondhand smoke because I'm laying off tonight."

I never tried them. When I quit, I just had to quit. I tried cutting back, smoking less often, etc., etc. None of that worked. I just had to lay them down and that sucked because I really liked smoking. I still get cravings for them. It's just mind over matter. Surrounding yourself with people who don't smoke will help a lot. That's what did it for me.

a friend of mine uses them and has since stopped smoking normal cigs...he uses the damn e-cig often and I give him dirty looks for it because it looks like he's sucking way too hard on a pen.

I feel like it goes against all the reasons I ever started smoking. I've never tried it, so I can't really pass judgement, but I'm not really interested in trying it either.

i smoke way too many but i also enjoy it. depending on what you look for in a cigarette i.e. the feeling in your throat and chests then there's not much with the electric cigarette and like 5 big puffs is equivalent to a whole cigarette. but yes no tar, the smoke is vapor, and there's different amounts of nicotine so you can slowly cut down and eventually quit.

The fact of using the words cigarettes and batterys makes me lol.
I'd I wouldn't be suprized if they lie about how much nicotine they put in it so you will keep buying their e-cigs

I can see it now, Tyler hanging out at the local gay bar, scoping out his next, uh, "friend", with an electronic cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Sparkly fairy dust bubblegum flavor.

Sweet. Now I can listen to my E-House music while smoking an E-cigarette and check my E-mail and I won't get E-victed from my apartment.

they're potent. but if you actually like smoking tobacco, they won't compare.

Unless you really get into the flavors. like mint, chocolate, etc.

My friend sells them and he uses it, but also his job is to smoke on them all day.
