I have not looked at London but as far as DC is concerned:

"While statistics show that overall violent crime numbers are down in most big cities around the country, there has been an increase in crime in Washington DC, Cleveland and Baltimore. In the nation's capital there were 181 murders in 2007. "

I live next to DC. There is always people getting shot. I used to collect money from vending machines in DC. Was the sketchiest job ever, you show up in a black neighbor hood, white dude with a brief case. I might have well worn a sign that said rob me. This was before they lifted some of their restrictions.

Anyway, they have one of the highest gun death rate in the country. I think they are world ranked as well(lol). Because criminals know, that for the most part they are the only people with guns. They can break into anyones house, rob anyone at gun point and not have to worry about much if anything.

See, with time we find common ground. There has been a lot of common ground recently now that most of the regular posters on this forum have gotten away from assigning labels.

This law should be first enacted on the government and its agencies, to test the tracking.

When will the rest of the population realize that the government isn't there to solve our problems, it is there to to provide a structure in which to operate.
this reminds me of a passage in the "leftis bible {Utopia}" its not a quote buit close to it......"you first make the crimminal by lack of education and law and then punish them for the laws that you failed to educate them in"..kinda sorta an odd resemblence in your quote..

Think if everyone had a gun and knew how to use it how much more respect everyone would have for their neighbor? Knowing at any moment that they could get their head blown off is a real incentive to respect others and their property.
Well said!

Cake,I believe that the price hike of Ammo that you saw at the October gun show was due to an across the board price hike on all ammo as of 09-01-08. The ammunition manufactures cited the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, increased cost of making the chemicals to create the gun powder and (the biggest factor) China buying up all the metal materials needed to make the ammunition. Now the price hikes after November that is due in part of fear over Obama winning the election and what some consider future bans on weapons and ammunition.
