:welcome:

Is your system stock, and would you be opposed to putting in an aftermarket head unit?

Thanks. The reason I made this thread is because when i was having trouble with my radio reception i searched the internet for answers but i couldn't find any. So I want to help anyone that is having this same problem that I was having. first of all whenever I changed out my factory head unit with an aftermarket unitI noticed that my radio signal was terrible I looked around on different forums when I saw a lot of people having the same problem I thought that it was normal for this car to have bad reception until I did several experiments to find out why I was getting such bad. reception since I like listening to the radio.
I have an SE model so I did the factory amplifier bypass like this. http://www.240sx.org/faq/articles/stere ... s_amps.htm
After that I switched my power antenna with a manual antenna which by the way is fully functional I got rid of it for two reasons 1every time I turned on my radio it made my car look like an R/C car 2 because I wanted to get a smaller cooler looking antenna as well.I ordered part #28200-70F00 from Nissan to switch the power antenna over to the manual.well when I did this it seems like my radio reception got a little bit worse so I went 2 Best Buy to buy another Nissan Diversity Antenna Adapter thinking mine was bad untill I decided to flip the connector where the two prongs are and after I did that it was like day and night I was picking up almost every single radio station in HD even with my short stubby antenna I got from craven speed. I couldn't believe after 2 weeks of searching the Internet for answers no one has posted this easy troubleshoot.

Hey oscar1214, I have dealt with the poor reception forever! I would love to try your easy solution but I'm a little confused. What exactly did you do and was it the antenna you messed with?
