Just wondering if they actually help at all. Especially the cheap ebay ones, they're the exact same as the ones over $100. I have stock mounts right now and I'm looking to fix my engine shacking around just a little for now until I can afford some good mounts. So are these things worth it or no? Thanks.

I think people have mix emotion about this. I like them!! I have them on both my cars with no problem with GOOD stock motor mounts. Almost no engine movement that I can tell..unless I drive with no hood so I could see if it move with load and yes ebay baby

Ah crap, I didn't think about that. You have a s13 with a s13 engine? I have a s14 with a redtop, I wonder if it'll fit on mine? Where exactly does it bolt up to on the engine? I'll have to look at mine and see.

The damper idea always seemed like a bandaid fix to me, I love my Nismo mounts.

Nismo mounts are what I ahd. I hated the vibration and how muched the engine moved.

100 dollar dampner = problem solved.

You're saying the engine moved with the nismo mounts? That sucks. And the damper stopped the engine movement? Sweet deal, I'm going with it for sure then.

Has anybody had fitment problems that still run bottom mount turbo setups?

Really, with my hood off I have almost no engine movement even when launching the car from around 3000 RPMs, and the vibration caused by the mounts annoys me less than the solid aluminum rear sub frame bushings did.

Oh for sure.

I wish I had a dyno video of my first dyno runs (before dampner) but that thing really tweaked in the engine bay.

During the video of my other dyno runs, that dampner kept her nice and in place.

Hehe, sold subframe noise is also pretty annoying...combined with the 1.5 way it makes for a very purposeful car hehe.

I have a bottom mount with no issue

I wouldn't say it's enough movement to really be concenred about, but if I notice somethign, I like to fix it as soon as I can. The dampner seemed like somethign that if it didn't work, that it was cheap enough to resell at a slight loss.

FWIW: That is not a JWT Dampner...I just stuck a sticker on it hehe.

Before stock mounts and damper I had this motor mounts (pic below) and oh my God!! engine noise was horrible and rattle like hell on my S14. Don't get me wrong they did their job but with a big noisy price

Interesting, I wonder if the mount had been previously worn out or strainged bad? I'll get one and see what it does. Thanks for all the help guys!

Actually I pulled an ebay engine dampener off my buddys wrecked S14 and it transmitted a lot of engine noise to the body, most notably a nasty rattle that sounded like valve tick when the engine was idling, I had it installed for maybe a week, then I took it back off.

is your a s14 hotpipe or a s13 t28 conversion , I seen a few s13 w/ s13 sr w/ t25 they either have stock hotpipe or 2 inch with no bov

the only way it would work for me if I. Run a custom bracket and run under the hotpipe

Even with a t25 car, I bet you ucould modify it to make it work.

But in the same aspect, if you have a t25 car, I wouldn't spend the money on it...i'd be saving it for better things...t28 etc etc

yeah. I got the same er hotpipe. Guess it was a 2.25 pipe. Also I got the t28 conversion piece that came with the super suction kit. is it possible that the stock mount could be the problem thats why it can't fit? I got cusco mount to put in but don't know when I'm going to install it.

Yeah I don't see how you guys get yours to fit, there's no way mines going to. I have a s14 with a redtop, stock t25 and everything. Guess I might have to chop a little bit of the hotpipe down to lower it out of the way!
