What he means by dumb offset is the backspacing on the wheels (the +38 part).

Let me try and explain this a bit. The offset is how far the center of the wheel sits out from the hub of the vehicle, so the lower the offset, the further out the wheel sets toward the outside of the vehicle.

Take a look at my Zenki on 7.5" wheels with a +35 offset:

If you look at the wheels, they sit far underneath the car and look too tucked in.

Now look at this Kouki with a lower offset wheel:

As you can see, it makes the whole car look better when the wheel is sitting flush with the fenders. It also gives the vehicle a wider track that improves handling.

I would also recommend at least an 8" wide wheel out back, just so if you want to upgrade on power you will have the traction to back it up.

On a 7" wide wheel, I would suggest a +0 offset.On a 8" wide wheel, I would suggest a +15.Check out the fitment database:zerothread/265282

One last thing. It isn't really the offset or wheel width that determines if Z32 calipers will clear as much as it is the spoke design, so check the website and see if anyone is running that combo, and if worst comes to worst, you may have to test fit the calipers with the same wheels.

I have this exact setup, the 962s 17x7 will NOT clear 30mm brakes. I ordered some Ichiba 5mm spacers, and they still BARELY rub. You are probably looking at 10mm spacers, unless you can find some good 7-8mm ones. Though I did not grind the nissan lettering down, plus I have a clearcoat over the lettering where its rubbing. So 5mm may be a possibilty. Hope this helps, feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.

if you want the sportmax get the 17x9 +35 all around and run 15 or 20mm spacers all around

that way they clear brakes and coilovers and look better overall
