Any recommended place for ordering EX accessories

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Soory to give you bad news but I was told by my salesman that roof rails must come from the factory as they are integrated as part of the roof structure and cannot be added afterwards. I hope he was wrong but the info seems credible. I take delivery of mine next Wed. and it has roof rails.

You're correct about the roof rails, JT4. They are added at the factory and are not a port installed option. The cross bars are a PIO.

I had the opposite problem in that I didn't want the roof rails, but had to take them since they were installed on the car and they are not removeable.

Well, now I know for sure. Must go 3rd party.I do really like the look of the car without the rails, so in the end it's ok. I've had a K2 Jetta (removable ski rack included) for 10 years. Being able to remove the rack is preferable. Thanks all for the info! Also note that should you rail owners ever need to replace your rails, the dealer charges a cool $1700. Ouch!

We were told by our salesman and the service manager that the rooof rails are $200 and he would give us a 10% discount. He said that the installation is very expensive because they are usually installed at the factory so its time consuming for them to do it outside the factory but it can be done. We were quoted approximately $700 for the rails and labor.

I edited this post to correct my previous comment. Yes, the rails are $200 but the cross bars are $250 more. Just be aware.

Hmmm. Infinity Of Oakland & Fairfield CA both quoted $1700 for the parts alone. Please keep me informed of your rail installation.

Be forwarned...I found that there was SIGNIFICANT wind noise on the interior with crossbars compared to without.

Now, if you are one to have the audio system at "11" constantly, then won't be a prob for you.

A lot of the early build EX's came without roof rails for some reason.

Thule has a well designed ski rack that attaches to the roof rails, thus no cross bars required. I'm back to wanting those rails. Grrrrh. Be sure to set your stereo to increase volume as outside noise increases, and viceversa. It's not on by default.

And thank God! They roof rails are butt-ugly in my opinion and serve absolutely zero practical function other than for skiers.

I re investigated the roof rails issue. Oakland Infiniti now says that it is not possible to install the rails because there is no template available to drill the holes.

Also, because the car is so new, the rails are not available period.

They say this could change in the future, once replacement parts become readily available.

"irish777" have you been able to get your rails installed as promised? If so, please let us know which dealer managed to do it.

When I was looking to purchase, I had the dealer check to see if the rails could be put on locally and the answer came back, 'No'. So I made sure to purchase one with the rails.

Hi, I just received the floor liner from weathertech. It is great that fits perfectly. I love it. It's a bit a bit pricey cost total of 174, but definitely worth it.

mcw,

Could you tell me where you get the floorliners? Is it one or two pieces for the second row? Thank you.

Hi, this floor liner is for 2008 EX. Fits nicely. It is from weather tech. You can order first row or second row or both. I ordered both.

http://www.weathertech.com

Once you go to the website, just click on "shop by vehicle" and select Infiniti, 2008, EX35.

I also copy and paste the exact link below.

Enjoy

Hmm... Difficult to tell how it really look like from those sort of computer CAD generated images. My dealer threw-in a set of the original Infiniti liner for me and I think they look very nice and will work very well in the snowy season. However, if you know other good places for different Infiniti accessories, please post them. Lots of people here don't want to paid the rocket price the dealer is asking for.

See my other posting under "EX35 Cargo Mat..." zerothread/335474
