I also had read BSW was using radar for 2016, but haven't been able to confirm it.colonelcasey wrote:Did they change the BSW feature to use radar instead of the camera for increased reliability?
Most significant changes: Foot-activated power liftgate, additional Nissan Connect telematics services and Siri Eyes Free now standard on SL trim.followingnfront wrote:Its the same as the 14-15 minus some new colors and an "SOS" button... So all owners of second gens in general will be able to give you the feedback youre looking for.
I wonder if this can be added to 14-15 rogue ?Rogue One wrote: [*]Siri® Eyes Free added to Rogue SV Premium Package and Rogue SL
Only with an update to the system from Nissan. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.kapesports wrote:I wonder if this can be added to 14-15 rogue ?Rogue One wrote: [*]Siri® Eyes Free added to Rogue SV Premium Package and Rogue SL
Right - my 2016 is loaded with all the options. The lift gate is not foot activated.followingnfront wrote:People need to stop talking about the "foot activated lift gate" lol... Go to your local dealership and try it... Its nonexistent.
It never made it to production
Sorry, I got some bad info from two different websites. Funny thing, the official press release says the S model gets chrome handles now, yet the Nissan website says they're black. http://www.nissanusa.com/crossovers/rog ... ions-specs A quick check of a local dealership shows they are in fact chrome.followingnfront wrote:People need to stop talking about the "foot activated lift gate" lol... Is that really the deciding factor for you? Just a few years ago lane departure warning wasnt even a thing.jessebeetle wrote:Was close to buying, but dealership told me they removed lane departure warning though for 2016? Sales rep didn't seem too knowledgeable about the changes, but I also can't find anything about it on Nissan's site. Can anyone confirm?
Yeah it looks like they're removed that from the Rogue. Odd choice for them to do so when every other car manufacturer is stuffing every automated safety feature they can think of in top of the line trims for each model.jessebeetle wrote:Was close to buying, but dealership told me they removed lane departure warning though for 2016? I haven't had any problems with LDW going off when it shouldn't on my 2015 Rogue. There have been a few cases where bright sun obscured lane markings and the system didn't warn when you drifted over the lines. I assume that's one of the reasons Nissan has changed it from camera based, to radar based, for the 2016 model. As far as the beeps being annoying, there's always the option of turning it off.tsumeone wrote:Nissan's implementation of LDW sucks (at least on the 2014 Rogue). Nissan does not offer LDW on the new Murano because it "annoyed drivers". Yea, when it sounds like an oven timer going off every time it rains / is dark / you are on a side road, it does get really annoying. They should look at how other manufacturers are doing it instead of giving up. A Ford Fusion for example will give you an alert to "Wake up" if you keep drifting out of your lane. Some manufacturers will vibrate the steering wheel. There are so many better ways for the system to operate than just going "beep beep beep __ beep beep beep" every time it thinks you are going over a line.
I could see where splatter on the lenses would give false warnings, and again that's a big reason Nissan went to radar based. The 2015 manual does remind you to keep the cameras clean for best operation, but that doesn't help much if you're driving in a heavy rain where water is collecting on the road and being splashed up. The bottom line is BSW, no matter how reliable is only an aid, and should not replace checking your mirrors before changing lanes. Same thing with LDW. If you're so tired you're nodding off behind the wheel get off the road. Don't rely on LDW to keep you safe...Divotman wrote:I turned off my LDW because there is a road I frequently travel that has tar repair lines all over the lanes and it was setting off the warning.
I was going to hold out for the radar based blind spot indicator but the 0% interest on a 2015 was too good to pass up. I have noticed that rain/road spray on the camera lens does cause the BSW lights to come on at times even with no cars around.
We bought the same exact one. Love the pearl white with almond interior!nelsr wrote:About a month ago, I bought a 2016 Rogue Sl with the premium package (pearl with almond leather seats). Only thing I've added is 20% tint on the Windows.
I really like this SUV. The sunroof is probably what gets the most comments from those who see it along with how "luxurious" it feels on the inside.
As others have said, there is no foot activated tailgate release. The sales associate looked like an idiot as she attempted to show me how it "worked". I do like the automatic release of it, though.
There should be a prompt every 30 days that'll allow you to opt out. The page on the screen is about three pages long and has a decline button.Kim T wrote:Also— does anyone know how to disable the Nissan connect information collection?
